I really can't answer this, because I haven't yet fished competitively, but I thought this would make a good thread. What's the most you've won in a fishing tournament or competition?

My biggest achievement is never coming in last. I've never been in the money though.lol. I don't compete much.

This is a great idea for a thread.

Yeah I didn't figure this sport pays off for most of you.

A fully rigged Nitro bass boat that they valued at $25,000 at the time...

$ 336.00 and about another 150 in gear (I am keeping my day job!)

Respect.

Respect.

Ya know i think my favorite part of my first win was every single angler said "nice job " or " good work man!" As they drove by while i was packin up my gear and getting my boat ready for the ride home

All I've won is a couple combos and a net - maybe with a value of $100 combined. But I've only fished 2 local tournaments, and only paid $15 entry fee for each.

$100.  I don't fish tournaments, but buddies and I will sometimes have a big fish pot.

Enough to pay for my annual fishing expenses minus fuel costs.

$45.00 in a company tourney for big bass.

$3k but lost the one that would have put a new boat in my driveway, so it was bitter-sweet.

1200 in a union tourny at LOZ.

My best year I was in the money 29 out of 35 events. After expenses, cleared about $39,000. That was less than my regular job. That's when I decided not to pursue the dream.

I fish club tournaments now, but it doesn't consume me. I have a good job and learn new stuff every day. It's fun to go to work. We just built our first iPad app for our magazine. We just submitted it to Apple and we're waiting for approval. None of us had ever done anything like this before. For old guys like me, it is all new.

I don't remember the amount, but I remember thinking my gas was paid for that weekend. I've had a few of those. My goal in the next few years is to win one these Big Bass Bash style tournaments where I can win enough money for a good used truck and an upgraded used boat (dream big, right?). My wife will be using that money for siding and/or a new deck, by the way; but it would have been enough for the stuff I want.

A #5 Biggie Size from Wendy's.

Friend and I had a contest at one of the local ponds for biggest bass a couple years back. Best meal of my life. You asked for competitive and that was a competition :-)

500 for big bass. 10 seconds left to go back in check in... bam 5.5 pounder 19 inches long.

Also might be fishing the Oakley Big Bass Tour next year.

You and me both

The most money I have won for a tourney $5,250

Winning Angler of the Year in my bass club and the respect that came with it was far more valuable to me.

$795 hopefully that'll be bumped up this year, but I just started fishing tournaments a few years ago and I'm looking to start fishing a few bigger ones other than just with my local club and the few opens I've been in in the past.

Maybe it wasn't more than your job, but that's still mighty impressive!
