Top Water Senko
Today, Wurm and I went and did some bank fishing. I had been reading alot about Senko's here on the forums. I decided to pick some up and give them a try. I rigged them wacky style. I've never fished this way before, so I had some learning to do. I did catch a couple dink's, but still have some adjustment's and patience to learn. As I was reeling in the Senko rigged wacky, it was riding along the top of the water surface. I was reeling it in rathery quickly to get through some thick weeds that were on the other side of the spot where I was fishing. As I was reeling in it was making a poping sound like that of your typical popper. It was about 10-15 ft. from the bank when "BAM" it got hit. I started laughing because it just struck me funny. I never expected it to get hit that way. I didn't get the hook set which suprised me being that it was rigged wacky. Topwater is always fun!! I will say, it was fun learning and those that said they cast like a bullet were exactly right. I was able to stick it anywhere. Awesome lure!! Looking forward to using them again and learning more.

If only I had a Camera!!
Yesterday, Wurm and I went fishing as we always do on Sunday. We wanted to try a different spot than our normal. So we went and fished in a spot that I knew about. It proved to be productive, as Wurm and I caught 3 largemouth's a piece. The cool thing is, as we were fishing Wurm said "Osprey" I turned and looked and the Osprey was about 3 ft. above the water. I missed seeing it plunge into the water trying to catch a fish. Wurm, however witnessed the whole thing. He (The Osprey) didn't catch anything. A hour or so later, the Osprey was flying around in circles. We stopped fishing to witness this huge bird flying gracefully looking down into the water. You could tell that he was hunting. He flew in about 3 or 4 circles before going behind some trees that were around the bend of where we were fishing. A few minutes later he returned and had a nice sized fish in his grasp sure to be locked down with his talons. He flew right over the top of us. The wing span was huge. Needless to say, it was an awesome site to see. I know that this may seem normal to most of you, but where we are from, the Osprey is on our states endangered species list. There only 2 nesting spots in our state. One just happens to be where we fish. What an awesome day, good fishing was had by all!!

First Bass (SM)
Congrats on your First Bass!! I have seen many people do this and have even done it myself. Make sure that your drag is not set too light. Sometimes if the drag is too light for what you are casting, as you cast, this will set the drag off just as it does when your reeling in a fish. When this happens this will cause what I call a spider web in the line. You wont notice it until you go to reel back in and see the mess. Try adjusting the drag a bit tighter and see if that helps. As far as a rod and reel go. Each and ever angler has their own preferences. I am a big fan of Berkley Lightning Rods IM6's and Quantum Reels. I've been using them together for years. I like the poles to be medium light 6 footers and a longstroke spinning reel.

Well, at least I caught something!
I casted out once right as some duck's were flying by. I wrapped my line around one of them, OH Yeah, that was fun! I caught a Turtle too. This wasn't your standard painted turtle, this was indeed a snapper. He kept my lure. My most favorite thing to catch is the almighty Weed Bass. This is a far superior species to master. The have a large variety, and come in many different shape's and sizes. The Weed Bass seems to be attracted to every lure and jig imaginable. They can hit on Texas rigged worm's, Crank Bait's Spinner's, just about anything. Once you have landed several Weed Bass in a row, then and only then can you say that you have mastered the art of catching the Weed Bass.

My older brother and a birthday gift
Greeting's Everyone!! I am Wurm's Brother. It's true in every aspect of his post. I did have to beg and plead to get him to go with me that first time late last summer. We grew up very close to a State Park. We practically spent our summers there, riding bike trails, swimming, hiking, and of course fishing. Whatever we could think of, we did it. Our parents live a short bike ride from the park. As kid's, naturally this was our mode of transportation. Wurm and I usually meet at our parent's house every Sunday. We head to the park and take advantage of the beautyful weather that God blesses us with and fish from early afternoon untill early dusk. Being that the State Park was responsible for it's share of raising us, we have grown to take advantage of the 327 acre lake's better offering's in term's of Bass hot spots. I never really gave up the fishing "Bug" over the years. I slowed down for quite a while to take an adventure in racing Motocross. I have gone on several fishing adventure's over the years. Canada, Minnesota, several scattered lakes across the area. During my racing days, I never really had the time to go fishing. I would spend the week working and the weekend's racing. A few years ago I had been blessed with the miracle of Fatherhood and the adventure's that comes along with it. Being a father changes your outlook and visions. I hung my helmet up and in return picked up my fishing pole and got back into it. Of all the places and all the fishing I've done over the years, I must say that this time, Now, this moment, is the best. Fishing with a sibling is one of the best d**n fishing trips a person can take. Only I'm lucky, I get them weekly. Thank's for telling me about this site Wurm!!
