  1. i took another one of my regular trips to the stream today. i go down here about once a week just to spend time. i love it down there. sometimes i fish for golden shiner with size 20 hooks, sometimes i try to net minnows, sometimes i set a minnow trap just to see how much and what i can catch, and then release them back. i caught some warmouths i didnt know were in there once! well today i set the trap and i netted a few things. mainly minnows, snails, and dragonfly larvae. as i was walking back home the sun was shining on the water and i just had to take a picture. this started a photography spree, and i kept walking up stream (i have never been upstream before) looking for the perfect spot to take a picture of the sun shining on the water. i took a lot of pictures, so i will post links instead of posting pictures. minnows in the flooded downstream part: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3106.jpg the sun shining on the water (that inspired my photo spree): http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3111.jpg close up of the rippling water over gravel (camera was about a centimeter from the surface of the water): http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3112.jpg closer close up: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3117.jpg a really awesome part of the stream (far upstream) with a whole lot of clay (all that on the right is clay) and very steep banks: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3122.jpg a close up of the running water by the clay: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3123.jpg a close up of the close up (i really like this one, i have it set as my desktop background): http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/Creek/100_3124.jpg
  2. go to your local DNR and ask them, or go online to your state's DNR website and find the fisheries page and there should be an email somewhere where you can email them. send an email asking if its legal. thats what i did to find out if its legal in maryland.
  3. its really hard to tell if its the same fish from those pics because the lighting isnt so great in either of them, but it could be. regardless they are both great fish!
  4. you should post pictures if you can, so we can see what kind of shape they are in.
  5. great trip great pictures! i wish i lived in the mountains..... salad spoon maneuver made me laugh a lot! ;D
  6. well the curuado is 180-200 bucks new and the citica is 100-120 bucks new lightning rods are about 30-40 bucks new and i dont know much about anything else you got but if those are in great shape, then you TOTALLY scored!
  7. its not the traditional, california big-bait type swimbait, but it is certainly a swimbait.
  8. I Love Lucy "I'm not gonna debate ya Jerry."
  9. what else would you call it? i think this is actually a good example of a swimbait. multi jointed, very realistic, realistic swimming motion without a lip. thats pretty much what a swimbait is. there are some other so-called "swimbaits" on the market are questionable as to whether they really are swimbaits...... :-?
  10. that bass looks pretty normal to me. i catch a lot that are faded and have very little lateral markings. that blind bass is pretty strange though! and i compliment you on your choice of reel ;D
  11. you are getting better and better! this one looks absolutley awesome! next time, you should get the "red and blacks"
  12. thanks. some things i learned from this bait that might help you out: make joints tight together while still maintaining free movement dont add too much weight make the head the heaviest and biggest piece test lures before finishing
  13. thats funny because the link that J Francho provided actually proved this one to be a myth!
  14. i fished with the finished bait briefly today, and it swims much better than before. my theory is that the epoxy buildup made the space between the joints a little bit tighter, and that is what it needed. now it swims at a slow roll speed. when cranking it at a slow roll speed, there is a subtle S motion along the whole body, but when this thing is burned in, it just goes wild, the widest S motion i've ever seen. looks just like a snake haulin' *** across some dirt lol! the water wasnt very clear so i couldnt get a good video :-[. video is coming though...
  15. You don't think this should be here exist? nope.
  16. The one who is about to move remove your post
  17. i wish :
  18. maybe i havent had this problem because i mainly fish with the DT03, which has a very stout bill. the deepest one i have ever used was a DT10, but i mainly use the DT03, and DT06. neither of these have very large bills, and that may be why i havent had one break.
  19. sweet! send some of that mojo my way, fishing is terrible here. :-[
  20. i dont know much about huddleston's, but judging from your photo, i'd say they are knock offs. the second bait down has a deformed tail what did you pay for these?
  21. these words....they are....blasphemous! which specific models are you having issues with? i have NEVER had a DT bill break off... are you smacking the lure on the water to get weeds off? i've heard of the bills breaking off due to people doing this.
  22. VERY GOOD! that shad looks awful familiar
  23. i have these earphones and they are the best ones i have ever used. so comfortable and the sound quality is great! well balanced sound with enough bass (something most other earphones lack). if you decide not to get these, defintely go with the in-ear style. they stay in your ear, dont fall out, are comfortable, and sound the best. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2429416&cp=2032057.2032187.2202780&pg=2&retainProdsInSession=1&numProdsPerPage=100&parentPage=family
  24. i know its legal in maryland, and its fun to do! its very cool when you feel your bluegill going crazy and then the bass just slams it. very fun way to fish nice bass by the way!
