  1. yeah i was just gonna say, that sounds like a baitclicker. you flip it on, and it sets it so that the spool will rotate if line is pulled off with a light tension. its for live baitfishing, so you can sit the rod down and do other stuff. when a fish takes off w/ the bait, that thing starts clicking, you flip it off, and begin the fight!
  2. storm kickin minnow/slab are some swimbaits. havent tried them. but they arent like the other storm cranks. they have a lip so they have a good action (i see vids) im gonna order one of each to test them.
  3. if you dont mind saving 100-80 bucks you could get the citica (100 at delo's, 120 everywhere else). thats a great reel which is practically the same as the older curados.
  4. oh ok, i thought it was a rapala. well still...im sure they cost about the same! who needs expensive baits to catch nice fish!

ive got a black and blue one, and a red and white one. i havent tried either at night, but i think it would do well, since it gives off so much vibration.
  6. yea thats made by bomber, i forget the model but its supposed to imitate a crawfish...that color doesnt do such a good job at it though :
  7. i tried so hard to get a picture of the mann's ghost, but i couldnt even find a picture!
  8. i gotta say... good job! the middle one looks natural! the other too...not so much...but you did your best, because of the not real cork...that screwed u over. anyway, they look good. how come on teh middle one, the exposed blank looks like its got residue of some kind on it? u should try to remove that if you can.
  9. holy crap i wish i remembered the thread that was on this topic!!!!!! cuz its just like what you were talking about!!!!!
  10. these two are BY FAR the strangest two ive seen:
  11. i know exactly the lure you're talking about. there was a similar post, but i just cant remember where or what the lure is. i'll try to find it.
  12. yes i can cast the slab. but my question was about the BAIT not a rod
  13. yeah i seen that one, it was pretty funny!!!!! i also have seen the magazine ads when some beefy dude is there and he bent the rod so the tip touches the butt, i wonder if thast possible, or if they made a special rod to do that.
  14. hey guys, im gonna get a storm kickin slab in bluegill color and a kickin minnow in gizzard shad color. ive seen the video of these baits and they look awesome. the minnow has alot of tail action. the slab looks very real. what do you guys think of these baits?
  15. yeah i was gonna say, the Rago Trout TOOL is like 300 bucks. i dont know who would pay 300 dollars just to catch a fish, and you may not even catch any or many on those kinds of lures. sure the FEW you may catch will be huge, but heck, the world record bass (22lb 4oz) was caught on a plain ole' floating rapala, if im not mistaken.
  16. shimano citica 200D for $100 at delo's with free shipping. (normally $120, but delos has low prices)
  17. yea i might do that if i get more money and if therse stuff that i want/need.
  18. Minnow Rap in bleeding pearl caught me this bass: X-rap in silver caught me these bass: anyway, the minnow rap bass was caught just cranking it in in a farm pond. no problem w/ weeds or snags cuz its a plain bottom, dug out, farm pond. anyway, that was the only time i fished it, so that was the only fish i caught on it. biggest of the day though if youre getting troubles w/ weeds, two simple solutions MOST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION move spots, go somewhere with out weeds. OTHER SOLUTION reel slower, i was reeling this thing very slow because if it went to the bottom the lip would dig into the dead tree leaves on the bottom and cause problems. the slower you reel the more shallow it dives. yea they tumble on the cast but so do most cranks. w/ the xrap, i like to cast it, let it sit, maybe crank it down to depth, then give it small series of hard freaking jerks. then wait...up to 10seconds. then twitch it forward...wait a few seconds...then jerk it some more. kind of make it random.
  19. yea thats how i broke my lucky craft live pointer. i was so pi--ed/sad at the same time! :-/ they sent me a new one though. i really would like one of these lures, but its not the price that bothers me, its the shipping. the shipping charge at TW is almost as much as the freaking lure!!!!! i'll have to search around for some better prices.
  20. raul got it straight. it all depends. there is no "set way". for me, i use baitcasting in heavy cover but mainly, i use baitcaster when im fishing anything heavy enough to cast on it. for finess or other light tackle fishing i use spinning.
  21. i really like the looks of this small, inexpensive swimbait (it IS a swimbait, despite what you say, i found it filed under swimbait category ). its in my budget, its small enough to fish on regular gear, and if you watch the video, its got some crazy go nuts action. i'd get it in ghost minnow or chartruse shad. i think it would be a success lure, what do you guys think? http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SVM.html#
  22. im with Muddy on this one. when i started w/ baitcasters, i was like I don't understand why is the handle on the right side, but now after using them, i couldnt imagine doing it differently. the fact that i have to switch hands feels comfortoble to me, everything about baitcasters is comfortable. now if i use a spinning reel, handle MUST be on the left, i cant for the life of me fish one where the handles on the right. just something you get used to and accept.
  23. i'da kept it as a memory! that musta been hella cool to snap a rod on a hookset in a MONSTER bass!!!!!! plus, i dont know how well that epoxy would hold to tough fishing or even a 5lber.
  24. i dont remember but no doubt my first fish was a stunted bluegill caught down at the local park. or maybe it was a white perch at the pier in my old neighboorhood where i was raised. dang...i wish i knew, i'll have to ask my dad tonight.
