  1. so my new citica is gonna come w/ a small bottle of oil? thats good. and i figured "REELmagic" would be suitable for REELS. but guess not :
  2. yay! now im super excited and cant wait to fish with it!!!!!
  3. jeez man youre tough to crack! ;D so is the only stuff you reccoment the stuff you sell on your site? well i guess if i ever need to lube my new Citica, i'll buy some of your stuff and put that in there.
  4. just ordered my citica 200D from delo's a few minutes ago for $100 w/ free shipping :) cant wait for it to get here....im hoping for it to get here about mid week next week...anyone know how fast their service is?
  5. hey reelmech, is reel magic okay to use on my reels?
  6. my rooster tails wont spin either. what you have to do is: go to the store and forget about rooster tails, buy some BLUE FOX!!!!!!!! my fav. blue fox is the vibrax minnow spin, but the vibrax flash i think its called arent bad either. when you said hwo to tie a new skirt on a spinnerbait, im assuming you mean the rooster tail kind (called inline spinners) since you said "tie" and the skirts on those are hair (or in the roostertail case, rooster tail feathers.) that is tied on to cover the hooks. its very simple, but you need the right equipment. get a fly tying kit, then it will be MUCH easier.
  7. when you say "stickbait" do you mean a soft plastic like senkos, or a hard bait like a rapala original floater? if its soft plastic, go w/ june bug, natural shad, or green pumpkin/watermelon seed. if its a hard bait go w/ a rapala original floater and get it in minnow, silver/black back, or bleeding pearl. but like others have said, its more about presentation than it is color.
  8. thats the hook that i use. i do wacky rigging quite often. its very simple. just hook it right thru the middle, then cast it near visible structure (liles, trees, stumps....) and just let it fall. on the way down just give it the tiniest twitches. if you dont get hit on the way down, let the lure sit on the bottom and jiggle it around on the bottom. if still no hits, then jerk it all the way back to the top, and repeat, till you cach a fish, or your retrieve is over. most people use senkos or look alikes for wacky rigging but i suppose you could use whatever you wanted, ive heard of people wacky rigging flukes. good luck!
  9. niiiiiiice! i'll be getting a "new toy" here soon (shimano citica 200d).
  10. are they easy to get hookups? cuz i know that the frogs have a horrible hookup ratio.
  11. i'd definitley sell the rods. i just sold a fly reel so i could afford a baitcaster. but anyway, thats beyond the point. if you dont like them, sell them and use the money to get something you DO like. but im not sure if i'd get a MH, i'd get a M, but thats just me.
  12. ive got an okuma spinning reel, never let me down. but im getting a shimano citica soon so im gonna try that out before i vote for anything.
  13. saw the thread about the jig and that reminded me about their mice. anyone used them? how well do they work?
  14. i HATE their frogs, but the jigs look like a no fail system!
  15. most times i'll do a trilene knot cuz i can tie it fast, good, and mainly cuz theyre easy. but if in fishing in heavy cover w/ a worm hook or somehting small like that i'll use palomar. for big lures i use trilene cuz palomar uses too much line to cover long lures.
  16. ok guys i think this is the one...i think im gonna get it. i really have fallen in love w/ baitcasters. they are so much nicer than spinning reels. i cant say they are EASIER, but i will say they arent bad at all once you learn them right. my daiwa is squeaking now, and its a procaster, and it has a metal plate under the level wind that say daiwa, and whenever im fishing it always reflects the sun RIGHT INTO MY EYES!!!! so thats got to go.
  17. o yea how could i forget about inline spinners! one of my top favorite baits is a spinner: blue fox vibrax minnow spin!!!! that thing will catch all species of fish all day long!
  18. i like this reel and im thinkin about buying one for $100 new on deloscustomtackle. is this a good quality reel and worth buying?
  19. ok so hows the citica 200D?
  20. o and what about the centrifugal brakes on that one....are they any good? i had magnetic brakes and i liked those. they are easy to adjust....how easy are centrifugal brakes to adjust?
  21. ok, so the browning isnt a very good reel? how about that shimano citica? i like the price, and if shipping really is free thats awesome. but which one is the best? i really dont know the difference between them, other than some have certain features others dont, but then in the little description, it doesnt say all the features EACH one has....so which one is the best? i kinda like the 200D..what do you think about that one?
  22. I really like this reel and want to buy it while its on sale: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_91075_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1 what do you guys think of the reel? is it worth the $100? i dont have alot of money cuz i dont have a job cuz im 15! all i have is $106 and i'm tryint to sell my fly reel for $20. anyway is the reel worth it and do you think its a good deal? PS: how long do items ususally stay on sale at BPS?
  23. dave, i trust ya man. but i dont have any reel oil. i guess i'll just have to go out and buy some huh? and that gun oil isnt very viscus at all...its pretty thin!
  24. weedless spoons and standard curl tail (NOT ribbontail) worms.
  25. lol well its not more than i can handle, and i dont think i need to send it to you. the thing is i dont have any "quality reel oil". would gun oil work? probly not huh? and how come WD 40 is good at preventing corrosion on everything but fishing reels? and how come on the WD 40 pen package, it shows them putting it on a baitcaster? and how come you said that i needed corrosion resistance not lubrication, WD 40 is corrosion resistant... im so confused...
