  1. haha not practical i know, but its a fix!
  2. yeah, use the lightest line you can get away with if you're gonna go the knot route. personally i would just smash them shut, quick and easy lol. but if you want a permanent, no-fail fix, solder them.
  3. -smash them shut with pliers or a vise. -solder them shut. -take heavy guage line and tie a palomar knot onto the hook and then slide it down to the gap and cut the line, leaving the knot on there. try those and see how they work.
  4. YUM baits have a strong anise smell (smells like licorice ) i also like *** garlic scented baits, along with LFT's garlic.
  5. Bandit Footloose (caught plenty of fish on this) Rapala DT FAT 01 (haven't fished it much, havent caught anything, but i'm confident in its abilities) Rapala DT FAT 03 (caught plenty of fish on this too) all of these baits in a shad-type paintjob will do the trick!
  6. wow what a piece of junk! i can see their reasoning behind the lure, its weedless until a fish hits and you set the hook, releasing the cover and hooking the fish...but...once the cover is open, its still in the way of hooking the fish, and i would think that when you go to set the hook, the cover would open and then hit the front of the fish's mouth and then close back on the hook... also, does that hook extend out of the body any more than what is pictured? if not, then that is pretty pointless...especially if its barbless, how is that supposed to hold a fish!? thats just a silly lure all together... ;D
  7. hmm i seem to have missed out on the funny :-? ;D
  8. this one: because i like the size and weight of it, i think it looks cool, and the action is terrific.
  9. if i had them i certainly would lol. on my smaller baits i use size 4 gammies, but these baits were too big for size 4 hooks... so i had to go with the 2/0 saltwater VMC's
  10. simple answer: just don't buy into any of the "red theories" but i think the red line is supposed to be "invisible" because red has the longest wavelengths, so it is supposed to fade quickly underwater, and since red line is transparent, this helps make it fade.
  11. this is one i'm working on now. i'm going to some something a little different with this bait
  12. thats an expensive hamburger....
  13. tails carved right into the bait eh? does that affect the swimming action much?
  14. thanks guys. marty, topcoating before assembly really helped

  17. 7" berkley power worm, black grape.
  18. www.designerlures.com <--- thats their old site, the new one is www.dzinelures.com, but it doesn't seem to be working. the owner is steve, i've worked with him before and he's a great guy. really devoted to the customer. you tell him what you want and he will make it. he has 12" snakes available, the site says "super floating snakes" but he can make them not float if you want. tell him i sent you, he might remember me
  19. oh ok that makes sense.
  20. 5 3/4" and 5 1/4" "OG Shads" ;D one is for me and one is for a friend.
  21. i don't really think it was her fault. they DEFINITLEY should have had some kind of warning or barricade around the open hole. now, if she was looking at her phone and walked into traffic, well thats just dumb... ;D see, traffic, cars, buildings, curbs, etc are things people consciously avoid walking into, but i don't think people consciously avoid manholes because 99 percent of the time there is a cover on them, or at least some yellow tape or a cone.
