  1. yeah i think closing the real by hand, maintains the general quality of the real and makes it stay smooth.
  2. i use my caster for spinners, jigs and crank baits. (heavy stuff) then i use my spinning for soft plastics, topwater, and light crankbaits.
  3. watch these to vids and listen to what he says
  4. nice smallies
  5. mostly just a spinner
  6. i believe it is true. think about the energy a bass uses to strike a fish. now why would a big bass use that energy to catch something small thats not going to fill him up when he can use the same amount of energy to catch a bigger fish that will fill him up. i also remember hearing that many bass records were caught by people not even fishing for bass but larger fish like pike and musky. (they use big musky baits)
  7. i like them. key is working them real slow.
  8. i read something about fishing at night. says fish in lighter areas and use dark baits. this is because the fish will the a dark bait that it contrasted against the lighted area. kinda makes a silhouette and makes a small bait appear larger
  9. also, i recommend a crank bait that looks like a crayfish.
  10. went up to MN last summer. we mostly jigged for walleye but other people were using spoons and in-line spinners.
  11. i just added a casting rod to my equip this year and id say the major difference is the casting is a ton more accurate. also it works better for heavier baits
  12. i just got the shimano sahara 2500 its great. i love using it!!!
