Depending on what your time is worth to you, making your own can save some, but mostly it is "I get the rod I want" (not what the factory thinks I want)... There is a learning curve...Start by reading the sticky above...."Newbies with rod building questions".Watch out though it is addicting... X2 The satisfaction of completing your own rod is great, your way-everything hand picked-awsome. Learning curves are the fun parts, Maybe thats what keeps you on wanting to make your next one ;D I for one am glad I took the advice and time to practice casting before I wrapped the guides, I did find a much better performance in casting by doing this. Right there is your problem. I don't know how many people I have had in here complaining about transmissions and transfer cases in Dodge trucks in the 1994-2001 year models. A guy up the road from me that runs a utilty trailer store had one and had 5 tranny's and 3 transfer case's put in it. yea, aware of it, this one has a new tranny

This guy is a 4-wheel shop only, thanks for all the info back fellas. I for one can work and fix most of my auto problems, I also know when to take it to a pro. The Dodge is a 96 full size, I took it to him due to his reputation, he's well known around here for his quality lifts and fixes. But, I have not personally used him mainly due to once again I fix most my own issues, this one floored me tho, so I took it in. BY the way I'd like to take this time to say I HATE the vacumm systems on 4-wheel drives and IMO they suck. Today he sung a differant tune, and will look at it tomorrow. He's a bit upset that 4 customers' checks have bounced, I for one reminded him mine did not I also told him that I really would like to resolve this and understand buisness, and of course realize how your not perfect, THen I said I was peed off that you blew me off so quickly yesterday and I was seeking some advice about it (little did he know that the advice is coming from a bunch of fisherman) ;D well I'll see tomorrow hopefully where this goes.

You bring in your truck to a mechanic and say you need your 4-wheel fixed up front, it won't engage. He calls and says its fixed, you go get it pay the man and a week later its doing the same thing, won't engage. Let me add that this happened over a 4 week period where he claimed it was fixed and it was not twice, so this finale one he said the hole inside needed replace and this would fix it, sadly it has not. He has said that to fix it, its gonna cost more? He said that he thinks that the axle is bent and that he doesn't check that, so thats why it got missed. Nothen has gotten out of hand yet but its at the boiling point. So, does the customer lose here, did ya just go by and pay the man over $500 bucks for nothen. Is there a leg to stand on here?

coolhandlala I Totally, Totally recommend reading first Tom Kirkman's book Rod-Building Guide, you can get it at Amazon right now for $10.17 When your done reading it you will build a great first rod. jannsnetcraft, mudhole and swamplandrods(personally call and ask for lance, great guy) are killer for rods that are affordable. My son is 11 and he's so far building a great rod for his mom, and he read the book too another good info site is rodbuilders.org as-Tom Kirkman is on there and he responds to topics. I for one benefitted from here on most of my questions, it was a quick turn around time, right now seems slow. Good luck with it Tony

Other things to watch, is she gettiing close to an age that she worries about? You'd be surprize how turnning 30 will affect some. The other thing is the hormone thing, its very hard on women and can get worse the older they get, to the affect of needing some Doctor advice. Just my oppinion from 20 years of marriage. By the way you was doing the right thing by taking her out on a date, do that again man! and don't stop, we can take our wives for granted and I had to be humbled in the past for not paying enough attention to her, they rely on us, and need us too. sometimes life gets a bit hard and we have to step back for some fun together

I actually had an avg pop up come on showing me being infected by virus' and I was to download a avg program to get rid of it, closed it out and what ever it was did affect me, I down loaded malware and it found 20 objects, It still runs funny, I don't think it all is gone. I forked out some cash for prevention software, I wanna catch them first before they have to be gotten rid of after the fact.

I posted about them, that I just found out they were there and about 6 miles away Thats really cool to hear a positive feed back on them, they seemed very straight forward to me and there to make a relationship with ya, Adam is the kid that is a rod maker too, and I seen about 6 of his rods already and they are killer. He has already made two for customers so they are a great work of art. The only thing I bought from them was a gift card for my son, already made my first pole on a mud hole blank and my second one is a mud hole blank. hopefully soon I'll be getting a real nice blank So many choices

Yep it was a good find, I for one did not post for politics but, just for a history approach. I'm what ya call a late bloomer on loven history, started getting really into it the last 8, 9 years. read up on some Civil war and WWll. I'm having a tuff time on matching up with his request, ON medium action and a medium light tip. is he talking simply about Action & power?
