epoxy ramps....
I may have screwed up, I made the ramps out of finish wrap. I let it stand on aluminum foil for about 20 minutes to get stiff and then I applied it : woops, I guess. I will say it looks good to me, took like heck to get the air bubbles out.

epoxy ramps....
Red pardon the lingo but, are you talking about the high build up they put around the handle/ring wraps?

Survival Plan
shame to say not very prepaired, but I'm gonna work on it. It had me pricing generators. I seen some crappy things during this ice storm and one really bothers me. > On the generator's, A certain supply store (known nation wide) was selling a 3500 watt for $800 bucks at my local store, I looked on line today and it sells for $350 bucks on thier very own line store man That is UNCOOL how they took advantage of a situation from people, pees me off, so being that I'm bashing them I won't name them unless its cool by Glenn, but this is very true, I called twice about the price to make sure I didn't miss hear them I will not spend a dime there again. I will say its cool to say Kudo's to Rural King, No gouging that I seen, same price at my local store as it is on the line store, way to be guys straight forward.

Looking for some tips on my next rod build/ hey Booten!
I've changed my mind a bit on this next rod build, I've decided to really try and make it as light as possible, I figure it be a good challenge and lesson for me. Its a mudhole MH Special(purple) IM6 7' 8-12lb blank spinning. I have two inch cork for the handle and I will iether go down to a 3/4 inch forehand or no forehand, I want to get a differant seat now, and I'm looking for a two piece one? also the real challenge for me is the guides, I'm not very wise on whats available, but I have been looking. I'm thinking about doing 25-12-10-6-6-6-6 but, I'm also considering off of Booten's build that he used Baston mini macro's 3mm. I have no experiance on guide selection so I'm up for tips and brand, again considering a light guide. I'm unsure of the line I will be using, I don't have a favorite yet still, I use flouro to braid so I can't give a good answere here. so, looking for some advice tips what ever ya got on it. thanks Tony

My very first rod build/ update pics Marbleizing
I'm excited, I went ahead and tried Marbliezing and it turned out great. I will be practicing this for sure. The over all finish epoxy is indeed a task, I had the most trouble out of everything on applying finish epoxy, this will diffently be practice makes perfect. The worst thing of it all was accidently touching the tacky epoxy, this is where I kept messing up, most of all blemishes are from this, and I was being carefull : so here's the pics, hope ya like'em, my Daughter loves it You can barely see it but I put her name on the rod and the year And a guide I will try and get better picks tomorrow, I was not getting good shots to justify the work > the Lighting was bad for some reason and when I would turn up the flash the darn thing would glare off the epoxy really bad so If I can get better picks I will replace these with them. wactha guys think??

Finish Wrap question?
Hmm :-? That was deep, I have to say tho, there's somethen to it, when I changed up and added a guide I thought on the first few cast that I had back lashed the line from the sound? It made me miss where the wieght went too, cause I was busy looking at my reel thinking it tangled up, I have to be honest, I kinda accepted that my reel was fried. But now I guess I have a mystery. Thanks Eric I appreciate that info. I really don't know what to do with that, you know listen for noise, along with guide placement, I guess you guys playen instruments could come up with a tune fork on rod casting we'd be set ;D well I did lay on the finish poxy, but once again the wifey has the camera > and the cell camera is junky pics. I'll post them on my other rod build topic tomorrow. thanks guys Tony

Finish Wrap question?
Thanks Eddie, well the big guides seemed to show up more qulity issues than the small ones, so I ended up really working on the big ones to look good. As for the tubing I'l take that advice what is it that your using, shrink tubing??

Finish Wrap question?
ahhh well I got plenty of that : give me a moment to laugh at myself ;D ;D I also know I hate wrappen the big guides, I did alot better on the small ones 12's and under. I moved some of the guides around on parctice casting, boy that was a pain cause, it was cold outside that day The thing I had to do was add another guide and it casted alot better, it casted good with the guides I did have on there, but I changed up a little more when I did the pole stress and saw some line cutting I was not likeing still, that was a hard choice, tryen to keep wieght down but have an accurate rod. seemed noisy'er too this way? wierd

Copy Right?
This only registers the business, does nothing to protect the name other than time stamp when you came up with it. It is "taken" in Tx, meaning no one can sign up using it because someone already did, but that really doesn't mean it's "protected". It is not protected till the copy right is submitted. It is protected from the submission date on, provided it eventually gets approved. As an example. Your biz name is "shakey heads" you sell Vibration equipment for construction, tamperers etc. (in Tx) I own a tackle shop called Bills tackle and I make my own jigs that I call shakeyheads. You have no say in that unless the term "shakeyhead" has a copy right. You have merely registered your business with the name but it is not protected. The only way it is protected is that no one else in Tx can name their BUSINESS "shakeyheads" (but they CAN name their products as such) It's not cheap. To properly copyright a name only, no logo, is appx $3k when all said and done. Wow Gives us an Idea, thanks

Copy Right?
