Caught a few little bluegil today and was wondering whats the best way to keep them safe and also taste good, I wanna catch about 25 more before I fillet them up and chow. RIght now there still "the whole fish" i havnt made the fillets on them yet and they are in a zip lock bag in the freezer
  2. Stay strong, he's in a better place. I'm sure he would still want you to enjoy life. God bless
  3. I know of senkos and ikas, but the problem: so does everyone else. Is what I meant this to be is like maybe kreatures or snakes, or maybe even frogs. Just like different types of soft plastics not just the normal worm
  4. What else?!
  5. Hey guys a recently started fishing a group of ponds and a small lake at a Metro Park by my house. Though the water looks great for bass I didn't have much luck. I know they stock it but its also fished quite often with it being a Metro Park. Question is what kind of baits have been proven to produce even in waters fished often. I really prefer finese fishing with softbaits, so if you could let me know what really gets them biting I'd appreciate it. Also how you might rig and fish the baits, thanks ahead of time
  6. Alright well thanks.
  7. Sorry I get on here and am very crunched for time. And usually dont have time to go through other threads
  8. Whats your guys favorite top water to throw and how do u fish it. I fish a lot of ponds, smaller lakes. Also are these best thrown around banks or straight out off the shore. (I'm a shore fisher) Is it stilla good bait to throw even in semi clear water? thanks ahead of time. PS. I live in Midwest Ohio
  9. thanks guys!
  10. I'm fishing in the Ohio river the place I just went to looks like i'd be ideal for most game fish, though the current is very strong. Its probably 5-6ft deep and i mean the current will take any lure down with it. Anything I can throw out there that works good in these conditions?
  11. I'm looking into getting one of these but have no clue where to start looking, I usually fish ponds and pretty still lakes. We just need something to get us around the ponds or lakes. Price is a priority as we dont have a lot to spend. NOthing fancy just something to get the job done. thanks fellas
  12. Looking for any good little spots to hit up in the Dayton/Cincinnati. At the moment I have no boat so ponds or anything that will be suitable from fishing from the bank would be much appreciated. Also if anyone living in the area has a boat and is looking for a fishing buddy let me know, thanks.
  13. I mean I knows its an advantage but I should still be able to bring in my fair share of fish from the shore as well
  14. So we pack up the boys and were headed to our "secret" spot. Its supposedly off limits because older folks live there and don't want to be liable. Needless to say teenagers will be teenagers, and we snuck back there, we caught 2 bass first 15min. Then two guys, one with a switch blade, and another with a baseball bat chase us off the property, its a real shame theres probably 10+ acres of GOOD bass fishing, probably 8 different ponds. Anyways after that adventure we decide to call it a night. Get up next morning go from 8-12a.m try out about 3 local places, 1 bass, 1 got away. That was it we threw everything at them it seemed like; we fished a little secluded lake and then the river/ dam. Idk if not having a boat is putting us at that big of a disadvantage or what but its getting depressing
  15. Well went out for the second time yesterday at night and didnt have any luck, I first started fishing a weight tube bait just bouncing it slow retreive then I went to my rooster tail, caught a 5 pd saugeye. I fished the Ohio rivier most the night then we went to some lakes and couldnt evenget a bit. We were fishing at night so idk if it was just not our day or we werent fishing the right stuff? My buddy rigged up about everything he had, worm, spinner, tube, crank, etc. Any suggestion on comments?
  16. So whats the normal way to do it?
  17. Is that the proper way to rig it? I hear you guys saying skirt up is best and also idk if you should fish it with a weight or not? I'm fairly new to "flippin" baits so detailed information is much appericiated
  18. Alright so no trailer for me when would the ideal times for a trailer be?
  19. Hey guys in probably going to be getting a couple buzzbaits, probably the pond magic. I was wondering what some good trailers are for that type of bait. Colors? Size? Does it matter on the bait? Thanks
  20. Bump, I'm also wondering if anyone knows of secluded, good ponds in Ohio
  21. ALright thats what I thought, thanks for reinforcing it!
  22. Whats the major differences in the reels? Is one better for jigging and the other for spinners or buzzbaits? I don't know the true difference besides ones open and ones closed. Someone please, in detail tell me differences and what works with what on each, thanks.
  23. Ya I'm going to hit up ebay I think. Any brands or models stick out to anyone?
  24. Oh and did I mention I'm left handed :0
