A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I went out today and got blown around by the wind for a couple hours. Caught 3 huge pickeral, but no bass. I could not give it a real effort though...it was too d**n windy.

nice fish!! The second one looks FAT!

Top Water Baits
I normally do best with a slow retrieve with some pauses. This night the fish wanted a short pull, pause a few seconds, short pull, pause a few seconds...WHAM! Also, this fish hit it like a shark actually coming OUT of the water to get it. A lot of times they just suck it down from below. This one hit it like a tiny great white. It was so cool.

Another new PB, man do I love smallies...
Nice fish. Hopefully your next PB fights you a bit more.

Top Water Baits
I'm not sure of the water temp becasue we were in a jon boat with no electronics. I'd say around 62-65 though from how they were biting. Topwater turned on in the early AM for a bit, and really on just after dark...8:00-8:30pm.

Top Water Baits
I just caught my fist topwater fish yesterday on the Tiny Torpedo in Baby bass. It was a LM, but a good sized one.

Yamamoto Kreature
my buddy did prety well with it t-rigged on a 3/0 EWG Worm. I was suprised how many fish he caught on the same one..they last a lot longer than senkos!

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I fish 4'' senko t-rigged on 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hooks. Iknow a lot of people like 5'', but I do well in clear water with a bit smaller profile. I never fish them wacky...I always get hung up or do not seem to get as many bites. I know a lot of people have a lot of sucess with wacky, but I just prefer t-rigged. I actually had a good day today at a pond up north. A few 3 pounds and a few 2 pounders and a few smallies. They were caught on everything. Heddon Torpedos, senkos, Rapala F-11 and F-9 and F-7. If you found the fish today at this place, (they were pretty shallow under cover and in laydowns) they were eating what you were throwing. It was awesome.

Black Jitterbug. Any size, but the bigger one with the two trebles is my favorite..is that the 5/8th? Heddon Torpedo in baby bass. I've caught my biggest smallies on both those baits and they are consistant producers. Especially at dusk. Good luck!

The pickeral bite is ON for sure! I catch about 4 huge ones every time I go fishing now. I had my senko taken twice by big pickeral too. I've had some good luck the past couple trips out in the afternoons. I caught a really nice 3lb LM on a senko under a tree the other day and a bunch of fat smallmouth. The F-11 and senkos were both working. Today, I went out in my brand new canoe and I caught a 4 lb 1 oz LM on a senko, again under a tree, and in the same area I caught the 3 pounder. It fought like crazy and jumped 3 times!! I also caught a couple fat smallmouth. All on senkos today. It's nice that senkos are working for me again!!!

clear water ?
I fish mostly clear water. I use 6-8 pound test, and natural colors in my bait. Rapalas in silver and black or gold and black depending on the lake. I also use 4'' senkos in Green pumpkin and black flake.

Lucky Craft Live Pointer
I've got a smithwicks and a husky jerk in the same type of pattern, but the smallies are not hitting those today either. Maybe it is the rattle in the ultra clear water. It's weird, but the only things they are eating here right now are f-11 Rapala in silver and senkos in green pumpkin, but at least they are shallow and in cover again. I like a target. Oh, but the way, my friend has the live pointer and says his is either really on, or really off. He does have luck with it though.

Lucky Craft Live Pointer
I have the regular pointer coming from Cabelas soon in Brownie. I hope it does better.

texas rig slipping
That was Day On the Lake a couple weeks ago...I saw the same show.

Lucky Craft Live Pointer
yeah, sorry about using the incorrect terminology. I know it's a jerkbait, but I had not had my coffee yet. :-[ I've done well with other jerkbaits at this lake, but the smallies do not seem to like it.

Lucky Craft Live Pointer
I grabbed one of these the other day, and I have yet to catch a bass on it. I got the Shiner patttern, which looks great. It's catching Pickeral no problem though. I fish an ulta clear lake and I'm starting to think the feathered tail is throwing off the bass. Has anyone ever removed the tail? I thought it was the rattle, but the Husky Jerk catches bass at this lake. Also, if you have any comments overall about this bait, I'm happy to hear them.

Yeah, I tried my bitsy flip today, but did not have any luck on it. I really want to catch a fish on a real jig. the closest I've come is a power minnow on a small jig head. I went out this afternoon for a few and did OK. Landed a really nice smallmouth on the Shad Rap and a huge pickeral and a huge perch. It was pretty slow overall in the early afternoon.

good job guys! Gotta love private ponds. Went out myself yesterday. Caught about 7 nice smallmouth, 4 huge pickeral and about 6 yellow perch that were really large! I caught everything on a Shad Rap in silver.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Yeah, this cold weather has been brutal for fishing. On Friday I had the day off and hit Nubansuit Lake in Hancok/Nelson. It was so cold and crappy that even the trout were not biting. We came back and fished my local pond and did pretty well. I caught about 7, 2-2.5 pound smallies and my buddy caught about the same. All fish were caught on a Silver F-11 around rocks or points.

I've seen almost no winterkill where I have fished.... Thank you for the info BT. I thought Drew looked like a smallie pond becasue of all the rocks in that section by the road, but I've never really fished it except from right there one morning. If you are fishing up north, I'd be using suspending jerkbaits in whatever the natural forage has been...here's it's been shiner pattern for me for smallies. I've only had luck with Senko's for most largemouth so far this year. I've only caught 3 larry's so far this year. Smallies have been better action for me.
-
What's your favorite and most productive lure?
My favorite lure is my Heddon Torpedo...it's probably my most effective smallmouth bait. Black Jitterbug for Largemouths.
-
Lucky Craft Pointer-Largemouth Bass color
Does anyone have any luck catching bass on this lure in this color? I know it's a great lure overall, but I wondered if this specific color catches people any bass.

Both Drew Lake and Stumpfield Marsh are just off Exit 5 off 89. Stumpfield is litterally almost just off the exit on the right. You actually cross over the less fished part of the marsh on that bridge, and the boat launch is your next right. Drew Lake is harder to get to coming off of 89. I only know going on 9E that you go towards Hopkinton and get off at the first road after the highway.

Charlie Moore
It's OK, but there are far better shows. He's more fun to watch to see what he can do next to look silly. "The Codfather" was a funny idea though....plus he's from Boston, like me, so how bad can he be.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I've only shore fished from Drew lake. I know they did some sort of weed control/milfoil control there last year. I'm not sure how that effected the fishing, but it looked like a nice smallmouth pond to me. Do you fish there? I've never fished Stumpfield, but I hear good things about it.
