  1. that's just awesome. I'm moving to Ca tomorrow.
  2. that's a link to the new shad rap, not the sub walk I think. I doubt anyone here has fished them much, but I'll give you a review after I do. :-)
  3. glad someone is fishing Kozak: Thanks for that tip about Kanasatka!! It looks like a nice little sleeper lake between squam and winni...i'm going to give it a shot.
  4. Rapala f11 in Silver is my go to bait.
  5. I've been tempted to start throwing a lure into the open water on some of the rivers, but then I wonder how I'll get it back through all that ice to the shore. I'm dying to get out there and my cabin fever is geting to an explosive point. This winter MUST END!!
  6. Mine was a LMB, just a hair under 6 lbs on a small NH primarily smallmouth lake (or so I thought!). Fall fishing a green pumpkin senko in deep water
  7. I'm looking for some tips/suggestions on picking up my first baitcasting setup. I've only used spinning reels up until this point. I'm probably looking for one to use on a flipping/pitching setup (also my first time having a setup exclusively for flippong and pitching). If you have any suggestions on a specific reel and rod for this setup, I would really appreciate it. thanks!
  8. When I first started fishing senkos, I was landing a ton of fish at this one pond and the other two guys were not catching anything, so I said: "$5 a senko!" One guy thought it was hilarious, one did not. I did give them both some senko's for free, and we all caught some fish! oh and my buddy says "Bass Club" when he lands the first bass.
  9. I went ice fishing for the first time on Gile Pond in Sutton last weekend. I have pretty good luck there in the summer, but we did not see any bass this day. My friend did catch a couple perch and a decent pickeral. It was pretty fun, but what a lot of work for so little payoff!
  10. Yep. it looks like things are finally winding down. Not much like last year unfortunatly. Good to see someone still catching though! I'll be gearing up for sone ice drinking..err, I mean ice FISHING soon with these temps lately.
  11. Wow, to even see a few big Brown Trout, much less see them at that distance is pretty cool. They are notoriously spooky fish. I'm not too sure of the spawning question, but it's great that you had such a productive day on the water. I'm very jealous!! I have not been out for a while, and it's getting COLD!
  12. I have dogs as pets. Fish are for catching and releasing back into the wild IMHO.
  13. I love it when they bite...makes them easier to lip and get out of the water. It can surprise you, but I've never been hurt by it. It only hurts when a hook in their mouth stabs me while they are trying to bite me.
  14. I used the 4'' senko this summer and had far better luck than with the 5'' here in NH.
  15. I love bass that look like they just came from some deep grass. That is one pretty dark bass, she's a beauty!!!!!!! Hookem Matt Thanks!!! I'm very proud of her, and she is still living where I caught her from as far as I know.
  16. I would say here in NH, anything over 5 is a lunker. My PB was 3.7 until I caught this 5.75-6 pounder (analog scale...hard to tell) a week ago: 6 pounds in a place that has such cold and long winters is pretty good as far as I can tell!
  17. I've had very little luck after 4pm here in NH.
  18. what ewokmonsta said. The fishing is just getting good, and there is always ice-drinking..I mean fishing.
  19. Thanks guys!!!!!! Seems like they are getting really hungry now that the water temp is dropping.
  20. and the jig may just fall out. I was fishing with senkos earlier in the summer and I had a nice smallmouth on. My knot gave and I was kicking myself the next 30 min even while catching fish. Then, my buddy pulls up a smallmouth with my senko and hook still in his mouth even while going for my friends exact same setup. So, it's possible!
  21. Thanks babosicbass! I'm still riding high from catching that lunker yesterday. I may just end my fishing season on a high note.
  22. I've been having good luck off points and submerged rocks. Today I caught all my fish in more that 5 feet of water casting away from shoreline structure.. In fact, I caught my PB today on a 4 inch senko in about 10 feet of water...I just decided to cast away from structure to try and fish deeper...it paid off with this 6 pounder: I also have had good luck with the silver Rapalla f9 and f11.
  23. GReat day today as I caught some nice fish and beat my PB by almost 3 pounds!! Here is my new PB...a 6+ pound Larry I caught today in deep water on a t-rigged senko: and yes, she went right back in after these pics.
  24. got out in the late afternoon/early evening for a few hours. Caught nice sized smallmouths on senkos, and my buddy caught a nice sized larry and a really tiny smallie on a rapalla. Beautiful day with almost no wind.
