After taking a severe soaking this past weekend in 50 degree temperatures, I have decided that my current rain coat has see its last season.  I am curious as to which brand is best: Cabela's guidewear or BPS 100 MPH. Anybody have experience with either or both?

I currently have the 100 MPH bibs and have been pleased by them but they are 3-4 years old and have started leaking around the "100 MPH" logo (yesterday my whole left leg was soaked) so I am not completely happy about that but I also understand that I can re-charge them with some spray that I had heard about.

I use the BPS 100mph bibs, jacket, and the inner liner. Never had a problem with them. I will say the jacket is a waste without the inner liner. I tried to run just the outer jacket, but it was obivious that the inner liner was the missing part. If I had to run just one it would be the inner liner instead of the outer jacket with a good rainsuit over it.

I'm sure this thread will become a one versus the other with each side claiming that the ones they own are the best.

I can not speak for the BPS 100 MPH but I have a set of Guidewear Insulated that I have used for 3 seasons. I was in driving rain at 50 degrees and was warm and dry. I use for early and late season Ice Fishing and stay warm. In between I use Ice Armor. I bought mine on sale in the Bargain Cave otherwise I might have tried the 100 MPH.

I have had a set of the uninsulated Cabelas Guide wear for several years now. It is great stuff-well made and works beautifully. The only down side for me is it is a little too heavy for summer use. That is more of an issue of me being an old fat guy that sweats easily. I have a light set of rain gear I use when it's hot and getting damp is not as big a concern, but if it's raining all day or the temp is a little cool the Guide Wear works very well. Even when it's cold a couple of layers underneath and your good to go.

I have a couple of friends that use Guidewear and are happy with it also. I have had no experience with the BPS stuff.

One of my buddys has the BPS 100 MPH, and he says it's the best rain gear he's ever had, including the Columbia, like I wear.

I have Guidewear, two different weight sets, and my wife has 100MPH. We bought what we bought because of sales at different times.

Both will serve you well.

The main difference is the noise. 100MPH rain gear is noisy. Every move you make is heard. No big deal; the fish can't hear it.

I don't know which is "best", but Cabela's

Guidewear gets a 10/10 rating from me.

Thanks WRB for the heads up.  I think that just sealed the deal for me. 

I kind of figured it would be an "us vs. them" situation since I have heard good things about both but I'd rather be certain than cold and wet 

I have been using the insulated guideware for a little over 5 years now. No leaks and its nice and warm. I also picked it up through the bargain cave for a smoking deal. Good stuff but I agree it is way too warm for summer use, or even some spring and fall days too.

I drove a 170 miles to the nearest Cabela's to buy the Guide Wear.  It did not fit me worth a darn so I didn't buy it.

Later I drove 15 miles to Bass Pro and bought the 100 mph.  It is the best stuff I have ever owned.

BTW:  I'd be willing to bet that if you took your bibs to BPS and asked them how to stop the leak, they'd hand you new bibs and say, "Leak stopped."  At least they would at the Spfld. MO main store.

I don't have experience with the Cabelas Guidewear, but I have bought other Cabelas Clothing, Jackets, etc for many years and it is top notch stuff, so I do not doubt that the guidewear will satisfy you needs. In many ways I might add 

I have the 100 mph and like it in cooler months, to hot in summer months, but you will not get wet. If the guide wear comes uninsulated I would take a good look at it.

As JIG Man said return those to BPS and they will replace them. They did for a buddy of mine and his were several years old................Al

No experience w/ the 100 MPH BPS.

But I love my Cabela's Guidewear (uninsulated).  I've had it for 2+ years, lots of trips/use and no issues.   You can tell how well made it is when you put it on.  Mine still looks like new really even though I've worn it a lot.

My only regret is that I wish I would have had it sooner!!!

Just an FYI. If what you are replacing is gore-tex material it is guaranteed for life. I had a set that began to leak and they had me send it to them for them to check. They deemed it faulty and replaced. Now I had the BPS HPR suit that was about $200 total, but he asked me to pick any suit that bass pro sold and it would be replaced with that for no extra money. I choice the Pro-Qualifer Parka and bibs that totaled $400 and they are the best I have seen. My father in law has the guide wear and my partner has the 100MPH suit, and they both seem to like the PQ suit better. I tried theres on and the PQ at bass pro store before I made my choice and the PQ seemed to fit perfect while the others did not. Plus, the PQ is perfect for fishing all year round. I have the zip in liner for those cold-cold days, but with Under Armor base it is perfect.

Just wanted to throw out the info on Gore-tex. I know after the customer service I received from GT, I will always buy from them no matter what.  Might save you some money if that is what you have. I would suggest trying to find each kind and trying them on first hand and see what you think fits you best. Good luck.

Have BPS100 M. love it. Bought last year late unable to get liner sold out for season. Just called local BPS (still shown on wed site, can’t be ordered thru web though) was told new line of liners coming out that will be compatible with BPS and Cabelas. Waiting to see.

Years ago I went walking & it was 14 below Zero . I was wearing the Cabelas GuideWare . I was burning up with it on. I love mine. My house burned to the ground & I bought the Cabelas GuideWare again  100 % Satisfied.
