Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)

Only problem is finding a place to catch shiners. I know of using river dace, but really I think the only place to get shiners is at a store. Unless I am wrong.

Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

  • What's up, everyone?! Figured I'd bounce on here, say hi. I got so tied up in chasing fish this year, I forgot to do anything else. I hope you all are happy and healthy in this new year, and have big

FYI   May 15 to June 15 no live bait for bass.

Fishing is legal with these species but not right now... ... http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/baitfish_species.htm

artificial lures and flies only -- may 15 - June 15

Was able to get some time off of work this week. Did Arrowhead yesterday almost 3 dozen in the schooly size 1-3 lbs. air temp was 55 but water temp was 68-70, today heading to Moose Pond for the first time with a good friend. Hoping to do Great East Sunday. Will have bass thumbs for sure this week.

Got out fishing for 4 hours after work yesterday. It was pretty d**n windy. Fishing was decent caught 19 largemouth all around 2 lbs. Biggest fish was about 2 3/4 lbs. Caught fish on jigs, senkos, crankbaits, and frogs. The weeds ahave started to come up and get a little bit thicker. The water temp was 72 and fish were post spawn. Heading back out again after work today.

So this year I have already broke my revo stx (something on the inside), my t3  (a crack in the wing system, at least I can still use the reel), and broke the tip off of one of my rods... Good thing I start working again soon, gonna have to get a new reel or two... I can fix the rod myself...

Fished after work again yesterday with my friend Brandon. We fished for about 3 hours. The weather was mostly cooperative, calm winds and mostly cloudy. Between the 2 of us we caught 23 bass. Nothing really picture worthy. Most of the bass were around 2 lbs, a lot in the 16-17 inch range. Caught most of our fish on rubber worms and spinnerbaits.

Going to Stewarston today to help my dad move, might throw a line in Back Pond real quick on the way home, anyone fish here/have any luck? F&G website shows SMB and LMB! Also ECP which is fun for a good fight (I use braided line)

Yesterday I was throwing a keel weighted Gambler Big EZ swimbait, swimming it right under the surface of the water... All of a sudden it gets wacked, which is to be expected but when I set the hook the reel stayed in my hand and the rod went elsewhere! I ended up handlining the pickerel in lol... I assume I just didn't have the reel tightened in very well or something... I put the reel back in and it seemed to be fine, I don't think I broke my rod, got it on video to... Quite humorous

Need to see that. The look on your face must have been PRICELESS!!

Did Moose Pond yesterday for the first time 19 total. It was nice to read a lake and have it produce. Would have been nice to see the whole of Shawnee Peak ski mountian but the low clouds stayed with us the whole day. Now my favorite local lake Great East for Sunday. Done almost 600 miles of towing my boat in 7 days all in the name of bass fishing.

Bass in the rain

Nice back drop even on a cloudy day

Forgot to say I caught them on black with blue jigs, wacky worms in pumpkinseed/blue specks, black/neon. Missilebait craw jigs brown/red sparkle. Chatter baits white with a white zminnow attached. It was cloudy/ rain all the time and water temps were 67-71 on different parts of the lake.

I took some casts on the way home last night and me and my dad each got one on a popper. I lost a good sized one on a frog too. I ws wishing so bad that we were on the boat because we were hearing tons of topwater splashes out of casting distance.

Good luck to everyone who is fishing on this beautiful weekend. I am stuck working all weekend. I may sneak out fishing after work tomorrow. Post some pics guys !

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs on a Rage rigged smokin' rooster... She was 22"

Nice work Jitterbug and Shane

No fishing for me today. I have the worlds biggest cold for fishing two days straight in the rain the past week. guess this will give me time to clean my boat out for once and get rid of all the empty plastic bait bags floating around in the compartments. Have fun all on this nice day.

Nice fish  Jitterbug. I plan on getting to the lake in few minutes. hopefully land one bigger then 4lbs again.lol

Visited my sister this weekend and fished Dudley Pond and Craney Pond in Henniker. I fished Dudley on friday until about 11 oclock at night. The day time bite was decent but as soon as the sun went down the pigs came out. Got about 10 between 1 and 3 lbs until I got slammed by a huge one. Got it all the way to the canoe before it spit my jitterbug, had to have been at least 5lbs. I woke up feeling like crud so I didn't get fishing till around 5 the next day but I landed a few decent ones from Craney, biggest was about 3 lbs.

Hit up Brindle Pond Sunday. It was a pickerel fest.25 of the slime darts in about 3 hrs. Some of the smallest picks i have seen in a while,No bass.

Fished a tournament on Sunday at Whitehall Reservoir in Mass, and it was a real tough day of fishing with lots of sun, high temps, not much wind, and more boats per acre than ive ever seen. I only managed 3 keepers, and the heaviest 5-fish limit of the tourney was only 7-14.

P.S. nice fish NEJitterbuger!

Exactly 4lbs - 21" caught on a T-Rigged Rage craw, it was actually pretty interesting! I made a cast maybe 15 yards in front of a beaver that was swimming around (there was a nice weed bed) and right when I set the hook the beaver was almost on my line and did one of their big SLAPS! Then the fish starts making some pretty acrobatic moves as well, it was pretty chaotic lol... I also got a few guys on the big live target field mouse.

Very nice looking LMB. The first and second one look much heavier than 4lbs.

Nice to see top water action on here, hitting Horn Pond Thursday :)

The first two pics are the same fish, it was pretty skinny

Did Horn Pond today and slammed them, me and my partner caught over 2 dozen and nothing was smaller then 2 lbs the biggest was over 5 lbs. It was a picture perfect day for jigging and chatterbaits.

So, I'm officially laid off as of Tuesday.  Kind of a shocker, but I guess I have the next few weeks,  or months, to beat my PB.  I was hardly getting out at all this summer, due to the job, so may be this is a blessing in disguise.  I'll be doing plenty of fishing during the week, so maybe I'll see some of you on the water!
