Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

  • What's up, everyone?! Figured I'd bounce on here, say hi. I got so tied up in chasing fish this year, I forgot to do anything else. I hope you all are happy and healthy in this new year, and have big

How'd you make out today? I ended up being lazy and didn't bring the boat up to NH. Seemed like the wind wasn't too bad today either.

Yes i grew up on that lake. Lived five minutes away for 20 years. Spent weeks of overall time fishing it growing up. Sadly.. it’s not what it used to be. They treated it for milf oil about 3-4 years ago and it hasn’t been the same since. I used to be able to go out there and put 20 a day in the boat, but since there’s no vegetation left it’s been much more difficult. They chew up jigs and senkos there. They average size bass is probably 1-2lbs because there’s so many in there. My friends and i jokingly call all 1lb bass “robbie bass.” There’s a few 6-8lbers in there. Just much tougher to find. There’s a down log on the right of the island straight from a boat ramp that has produced the biggest fish for me. All Big girls were caught there. So essentially find the wood and structure that isn’t vegataion because there’s none left and throw a jig. Brown and green pumpkin. I caught the one below about 7 years ago. Hence why the quality is so bad. I took it on my LG chocolate LOL and Then a pick of it on my iPhone.

Smoked em in the Concord area! Glad I can finally stop having to drive an hour to find fishable open water

Wow! That would be a heck of a bag in a tourney. Just curious, were the fish all on deeper structure still?

I used to fish Robinson often as it's close to home and convenient. Haven't been in probably 7 or 8 years, as it started to really suck, unless you like 1 lb bass and boats waking next to you doing 40mph. It's really a small place, and the boats and pressure put on it make it a waste of time, imo.

I am a fan of milf oil...milfoil not so much.

Hello, first time posting. I’m fairly new to bass fishing ,I only started in July of last season, but have learned quickly. Started on the banks then got a kayak to get on the water. My PB is 4lb 13oz so far. I live close to Arlington Mill Res so if anyone local is interested in going fishing I’m usually up for it.

Just bought a pontoon boat but don’t have a slip on Arlington yet if anyone is interested in renting me dock space?

NH Bassin, if your willing could you Lead me in the right direction about the old bed roads and structure at Arlington?

Thanks for the info on Robinsons! Bummer it has gone down hill. A few of my favorite ponds have had similar issues which is a shame as it gets harder to find good places to fish. I'll probably try it a few times since it' so close and will definitely find that log. I'll let you know how I do.

If you check out the state topo map of Arlington you'll see the  old road and contours. I'm pretty sure you can launch your kayak down by the convenient store.

Nhbassin yeah they were mostly out in 10-12 on hard bottom, though a couple came in 5-6 on a chatterbait.  Went back to the same place a few days later, water temp dropped 3 degrees and they weren't budging

Looking to do some small mouth fishing tomorrow in the southern NH area because I figured the waters warmer. Any suggestions? Is canobie any good? Massebesic?

Canbie=no. Massebesic is good but big, so unless you know it, you might spend some time searching.

Canobie can be really good! I'm from Lowell, Ma originally. My brother lives in Dracula. Fished Canobie for over 20+ years. Wait about two more weeks. When you put your boat in at the ramp; you can park over by the water works. Going out the ramp go to the shoreline to the right. There is a point that can be dynamite. And about 50 to 100 uss off shore from the water works there are sunken telephone poles and the smallies love to spawn in it that area too!

I've been fishing canobie for 35 years. I find it used to be great, but the last 10-15 years has fallen off. There are still good days to be had out there tho, I agree. If you go off that first point to the right of the launch, there's a hump that travels towards the opposite shore, good spot to hit.

I haven’t been “on” the water yet this year but I have been bank fishing. I can only access a couple of spots on my home Lake so it can be hit or miss. This is my first year fishing a jerk bait and man does it produce! I’ve caught everything from pickerel , croppie, and this 4.5lb fatty

I’m not sure why but my photos not  posting

Over the next few weeks, it will be tough to beat the productivity of a jerkbait in NH! I purchased a few yo zuri suspending jerkbaits and the prism perch pattern and they look perfect in the water! Here is a link to them at Tackle Warehouse if anyone is interested. (http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Yo-Zuri_3DB_Series_Jerkbait/descpage-YZ3J.html?from=Google&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8YXXBRDXARIsAMzsQuUfMbHgiL07rx48_2DIH93d2YkDatcG3nm0EP1mK2ipwHXJUB7WNhUaAigfEALw_wcB

I was just looking at those. I like the 0-2ft suspending which seems pretty unique running that shallow. I bet it’s a killer.

I have the Lucky Craft Pointer 100 in yellow perch, bluegill flash?,  and ghost minnow that run in 6-10ft.

I need to cover different depths so I also just picked up the LC Pointer 78 that runs 4-5ft in baby bluegill which looks amazing.

Anyone have any insight on highland lake? Thinking about going there this weekend or next. Have a feeling it could be close to spawn, if not, full spawn in two weeks with the warmer weather coming fast. Any tips would be helpful

Fished a southern New Hampshire lake in pelham. The smallmouth and largemouth were on beds! Canobie has a good smallmouth population. Right now would be a perfect time to catch some smallmouth off of beds! Straight across the ramp to the water works shoreline tends to hold a lot of smallmouth beds in 6-9 ft of water. Either work that water works shoreline all the way past the amusement park. And also along the main road that the water works is on too! Now is the time! Ballhead grubs. Or Texas rigged creature baits!

Does anyone know if you still need to get a key and pay a fee to fish Big Island Pond in Derry/Atkinson? I found some things online that said you did, but they seem like they are from a few years ago. Also, is it worth it?

Yes you still need a key. You have to contact the town of Derry and ask for a key to the locked gate on Escumbuit Road. The cost used to be $50 a year, but not sure if they still charge that price or if it's more now. The pond itself is stocked with brook, brown and rainbow trout. It also has Large and smallmouth bass, as well as pickerel, white perch, yellow perch, crappie, bullheads and sunfish. Hope this helps.
