Can i use model paint to patch beat up jig heads.

Honestly, I ask the question, Why? I promise you, you will catch just as many Bass on a Jig with Zero paint, just a lead head than you would with the best looking paint job on the market. Do you care what color your Texas Rig Sinkers are? Please don't take this as me coming off rash, but if your Jig head has a Chip in it, keep fishing it. No need to re-paint it. It has nothing to do with why you're catching fish on it.

Do a search for powder paint (for jigs) it's pretty cool stuff and won't chip like paint. I just got a bunch of colors from Ebay for under $3 each shipped.

Yes if you already have painted jigs and you want to touch them up model paint it will work. However it is not as durable as powder paint. If you are looking for good prices on powder paint PM me and I will help you out with some info on how to do get this done efficiently.

ON another note, I will agree with Mumpy, I have many times used beat up jigs and they still produced fish, so I too believe that paint isn't always the answer.

I'm still catching ton of bass on em, they just look terrible to me.(lol)

Nail polish from the Dollar store works really good. Dries fast and chip resistant.

If you must touch them up try the Quick coat lure markers, they are actually paint markers that use real paint, they come with six different tips and it makes it quick and easy to touch up lures plus it dries fast and last longer than using a sharpie or dye.
