I clicked your link and i can't quite grasp how to put a marker on, any advice?

Top right corner of the map, click "Add your location". Enter your city name, hit "save".

Done!

I've been on the member map for quite some time, it isn't where I live, it's off by a few miles.

Mine is dead on.

this is what i'm seeing when i click on the member map feature...

i don't have an area to the top right to type in.

Are you logged in when you're viewing it? Double-check to see if you're name is at the top, and not "sign in".

I would like to post my location, but there is nothing in the top right corner to click. I get the same screen as snuffleupawhat does? Any help on this yet?

Yes, we're aware of it and working on a fix.  Dang Google keeps changing their code.
