(Same disclaimer as yesterday: Since I'm not Butch Brown, I'm going to make a new thread for every swimbait fish I catch)

Okuma 7'11" heavy, Cardiff 401A, 25 lb test Big Game, ROF5 eight inch hudd in rainbow.

Went to my "old" reservoir this morning before sunrise, and fished for about 4 hours. One bite, one fish.

Fish weighed 7 lbs 12 ozs.

She hit with about 40-50 feet of line out. I was swimming the bait back about 5 feet below the top (almost waking).

Fish in this lake are at an early pre-spawn stage I believe, and are just starting to move up.

** 5th fish over 7 pounds this year, all on ROF5 hudds, 2 on hitch, 3 on rainbow.

Bonus pic:

One rod, one reel, one bait.

Nice fish and pics. I have never thrown a true swimbait like a hudd. I dont feel like the waters i get to have large enough bass to hit it.

Nice fish and I wouldnt be so sure about not having bass that would hit it packman, I have only caught one fish so far on my hudd (only used it on one outing so far) and it was the 6" hudd and the fish was only about 2 pounds, the hudd just about fit in his mouth

Another guy on here has a avatar picture that is proof it doesn't take a big fish to eat a big bait. I believe it north GA Hillbilly that has a picture of a bass with an 8" Hudd wedged in it's mouth, not even sure if it was hooked. I've had lots of 12 inchers completely engulf a 5" decoy swimbait, to the point that I couldn't even see it anymore. If they're hungry enough they'll hit it. Deep you are on a roll man!

that is just awesome!!! You are on a roll man. And each fish is on respectable waters. I know the lake takes no boats out there but do you usually run in to shore fisherman? Awesome.

Beautiful fish! Really good looking and healthy! She looks like she may have been starting to clear a bed based on the pinlyness at the bottom front of her tail.

Thanks guys.

Shimmy, I sent you a PM.

Volfan, looks like that. I haven't fished this lake a lot this year.

Nice fish! I'm jealous.

What hour of the four hours you fish that you caught it in. I always told myself if I catch a big one like over 8 in my first hour,I would just pack Up and go home. I probably wouldn't go home, but haven't been in that situation.
