What Hook Is This

Featured Replies

A friend of mine swears by this hook, looks like some kind of mustad, he said he's never been able to bend one compared to other mustad flipping hooks

Who makes this hook?

That is a nice looking hook but I don't know who makes it.

I am using the Owner 5304. It's heavy enough for me and the bend or lack of keeps the trailer from sliding down. But if you need a super strong hook Owner makes one that is heavier.

It looks a lot like the Mustad 91768BLN that I use on my Poison Tail jigs.

That is a EWG hook and if it is a 60 degree hook it may be a Gamakatsu 2014.

If it has a flat eye (cross-eye) then it is most likely this hook from Mustad.

If it has a regular eye I would lean more toward the Gammi pictured above. The only problem with the Mustad hook is unless Mustad has starting making them again it is a discontinued hook. They are high b/c of that. If you really like the hook, I'd start searching and buy all you can buy.
