We all know what amazing lures and techniques come out of Japan. I was wondering why they aren't in the bass boat market....Maybe they are and I just haven't seen them. I'm curious to see what they would design a bass boat like.

They already supply outboard engines, and they pretty much have everything else in the marketplace throughout the U.S.

Is it just me or is anyone else happy to buy American made products?

I don't want to sound negitive here and there is nothing wrong with compitition from abroad, but it seems we have sold and given enough of this country to everyone else.

I am all for buying American. But we all benefit from technogical advancements and it pushes us all to be better.

I can almost guarantee that something, somewhere in your Tracker and in your Strike King products was made overseas. The machinery that builds them, some part or something was made over there. There are few things made 100% by American parts and by American built machines.

The only conversation that I've seen in this forum about a Japanese watercraft was for the nifty, and likely VERY expensive, Megabass small-water boat.

probably would'nt be any different from what we have now. Japanese, Italian, and German cars are pretty much the same as American. but like most things Japanese, they would be at least twice the cost.

I can remember the days when anything coming out of Japan or China was considered inferior and cheap.

We make great boats in the USA. Why go for a import?

I read an article recently on this site I believe and it was said that owning a boat in Japan is twice the expense and maybe more than owning a boat in the US, basically the market doesn’t exist in Japan as it doesn’t here in the US and I would assume that companies located in Japan don’t try to compete, supply vs demand.

Its funny people still don’t realize that most “US” vehicles are not made in the US and I would imagine boats would be the same. Of course you have companies like Toyota who built a factory in Texas just for Trucks how American can you get?

Afew years back i saw a video showing some glass boats (japanese) that were interesting. It kinda looked like Jack "hacksaw" Reynolds got ahold of it and sawed the back half off. Pretty much a front deck like any bass boat, but a bench in back with a tiller-steered 25hp ob in back. I doubt that they were even 10' long. Kinda cool,,,
