After Shave

Well as I have just discovered apparently you are not supposed to apply isopropyl alcohol to large areas of skin. Which means I should probably stop using it as after shave on my head, arms, and face. I was using it cause the scent dissipates rapidly and it makes my skin feel really really soft. So I pose the question to you fellas and gals. What kinds of alcohol based after shaves are there that either have no scent or are VERY light scented? Also recommendations for a decent scent assuming there are no non scented after shaves would be appreciated as well.

cant help ya man I don't use it or shaving cream for that mater even when I use a razor or straight blade on my sides. I love straight razors for doing skin fades especially here where its 120 and climbing every day nice and baby soft and cool but i just use warm water and go no cream no after shave.

Alcohol will dry out your skin. Use a nice body lotion. I prefer non scented. Go to the make up counter in the mall, such as Clinique, and ask the ladies for a good lotion for men. They'll help ya out better than us scaley fisherman. You also might want to get soap designed just for the face. Dial makes a pretty good face soap.

BTW, are you turning metro sexual on us?

I knew someone was going to say that, HAHAHA. I just listen to the girls but have never bought anything from there. My wife buys the lotion. The years of sun exposure has ruined my once delicate, fine skin.

I waxed my head once in college. That was one of the worst most painful experiences ever. Plus I don't think there are enough razor blades in the state to get rid of the fur covering my back and chest. Homie I look like a freaking werewolf.

Witch hazel may be a choice there is some alchol in it however it is not overly drying.

I use hot water as my aftershave, and I don't look a day over sixty-five.

Now witch hazel sounds promising.

I've tried using hot water it didn't do me a bit of good.

The way its supposed to be done is shave with warm water, opens the pores, and rinse afterwards with cold water, closes the pores.

I prefer the smell and STING of Aqua Velva. To me, it wasn't a good shave unless I feel the cool sting. Something is missing without it.

Considering that you are only 35, I don't recommend hot water. Considering that I don't shave, save for my neckline, my recommendation isn't worth spit.

The grandmother of one of my co-workers was the owner of Wich Hazel. He fishes the pro kingfish circuit.

I thought witch hazel was a generic plant extract, not a name brand

It is a plant but perhaps there is a brand name also. The plant is where the astringent actually comes from. There was an old mill in my hometown that produced it years ago.
