H2o Jerkbaits vs LC Staysee and Pointers

Featured Replies

Just wondering what you all think comparing the 2 companies product. I dont have either one mainly use rogues and x-raps, but i plan to purchase some shortly. I can purchse some used pointers and staysees for 9.25 a piece or are the H2O baits just as good? Do the H20 jerkbaits have the action like the staysee or the pointer? Any information about either product and how they compare would be great! Thanks

hey just to let you know both H20 and lucky craft lures are made in the same factory with the same components just a different name.  As far as results go I don't see any difference.  I catch the same amount of fish on both company lures.  I would go with h20 because their lures are cost efficient.

Lucky Craft has their own hooks made by VMC and sharpened by Daiichi. It would be very unlikely that a store brand like Academy could use the same hooks, or use the same plastic and internal rattling systems as Lucky Craft. What is your source for this?

I heard that comment from a similar thread posted in this website a while back.  If you search for it you will find it.

Another word for cost efficient.....CHEAP...

I have not been overtaken by the H20 madness.

The H2O jerkbaits are rather poor quality in my experience.

Wow, That's the first real negative comment of a H2O bait i have ever heard, everyone seems to have a pretty positive opinion when it comes to H2O.

I thought the same thing.

As a matter of fact, I almost bought a few H2Os the other day when I was in Academy since I had heard many good things about them.

While I am not totally blown away  by h20 baits I do like them. Especially for 3.29 at my local academy. They have a great selection of styles and colors. I picked up some of the shad rap shaped ones the other day. Cant wait to try them. Are there better baits. Sure but if your on a budget the h20's are awesome. The only complaint I have really heard is the paint doesnt hold up. Thats ok with me cause that would give me an excuse to repaint some baits.

I bought two of the crankbaits when they first hit the store shelves. The ran every way but straight. You could not tune either of them. The last sound they heard was hitting the bottom of the trash barrell. The old saying that you get what you pay for did apply to those two lures. Have not spent a dime on any other of the lures. I'm sure there are many that catch fish and run true. I just have not bought any of them and ya'll can tune the rest if you like. I'll stick to what I have use for.JMO.

Everyone has their own opinion , that's what makes us all so unique.

I just had a great idea H20 Lures are Terrible!!!! good now the price will stay down so I can keep buying them.

Out of four H2O jerkbaits purchased last spring, one took on water out of the box, one laid on it's side.  All four wouldn't suspend.

I know everyone likes to compare them to Lucky Craft, but to do so is intellectually dishonest.  These baits are nowhere near the quality of LC.  Or even Strike King for that matter.

Could not have said it any better. Nothing but cheap knockoffs. IMO.

I will say that the crankbaits are a little better.  I bought a box of them last year, had a little luck with a couple of them.

That said, I still think that there are much much better options on the market for an extra dollar or so.  Bandit, Strike King, Bomber, Norman all exhibit better QC and better results.

i heard just through talk that alot of pros throw them, do you think its true?

I know nothing of H2O, so I can't comment on their build quality.

To be fair, I have 4 LC pointers in my possession that were purchased new about a month ago.  Upon initial use/tuning, 2 of the 4 are slowly taking on water.  Granted this is the first time I've experienced this with LC, but its happening.

Wow!

I'm guessing broken in packaging or shipping.

There should be no problem having the lures

replaced.

:)

That's very likely the case.

Visually they look fine, and it took about 7-8 casts before I noticed them slowwwly starting to sink.
