The palomar knot is probably the easiest to tie and I have never had it fail. Once you get it down it's really fast to tie.

All along since I have moved to Jacksonville, about 3 months ago, I have been searching for a lunker pond and it has been in my backyard this whole time....

Here are some of the fish I caught today. I was fishing for about 1 hour and a half and I caught 8 in total all over 2.5lbs. Should have been 9 because I caught one that was easily 4lbs and I brought him on land and was about to lip em to get the hook out and he jumped, hook popped out, and he rolled back into the lake and swam off!!! I also had a huge one jump out of the water and the hook flew right out of his mouth, easily bigger than any of the ones I have in these pictures.

I caught them using spinner baits, black and pink power bait worm, and a lure that resembles a shiner.

Here are some pics of the fish I caught....

I have a crappy little canal behind my house... if I knew I would get back into fishing like this I would have bought the same darn house across the street for extra $5K and been on a much larger canal!!! d**n that's nice fish man!

I have been in Jacksonville since feb. and the only place I have seen a gator is alligator farm in Saint Augistine lol. You know any places around here that have em in them I am from NJ so I would like to see one in the wild when I am fishing. I also haven't seen a water moccasin yet either

There's one in the back pond in the abandoned housing development on bartram park on the right coming from race track

Which one? I fished the one towards Old St. Aug. it is really weedy, then the other two, one closest never got anything and the one at the far end towards Racetrack my buddy only got bluegill. But the one I am curious about is the one in the woods, between that construction site and the apartments. I have seen people drive trucks up there, but I have also seen police chasing people away. But that one in the woods looks like it might hold a gator and a bunch of fish and turtles. Message me sometime and we can further discuss.

kinda an introduction and kinda questioning...Hi, im also new to the area and am gona be here for 5years+ so my goal is a 13#+ bass and so far ive made a pretty detailed list of where to fish and what produces! That being said id like to get out on some hot spots you guys might have some time? I dont believe in secret spots or ponds and

...here comes the zinger...private property crazyness! I'll ask permission when i can but fishing is fishing and i never keep freshwater fish! VERY environmentally conscious so fishing the backside of a lake or trecking through unknown woods is A.OK in my book (includes golf courses).

Anywho, if anyone would like to start hunting lunkers around jax or just share some tips and knowledge hit me up!
