You Are Not Special

Featured Replies

You mean.....Mr. Rogers...lied to me? I'm not special? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE!

Being from mass, needless to say this story is pretty big around here. All i can say about it is that i wish that this guy did my graduation speech. probably the best advice ive ever heard

PREACH BROTHER PREACH

Made it on the local news all the way down here in sc. Great speech with a lot of truth to it.

That........is...........amazing!

Heard about it on the radio all the way in California

We need more people that have that kind of pragmatic approach. Priceless.

Wow! That speech should be required, repetitive viewing for all students who enter high school, until such time as they graduate.

I've noticed that this site is extremely late on videos or other things that have been on the internet for awhile.

Regardless, this is a cool video.

We're not "extremely late". The speech was given this month and has just gained popularity in the past couple of days. You must be "special" and get stuff extremely early.

Probably because we spend more time fishing and discussing fishing than researching the latest internet memes.

Yeah because it's impossible to go fishing and use the internet in the same day.

LOL, true.

Great speech!

I get the "your no one special" feedback from the Bass every time I go fishing. I read incessantly, but it hasn't gained me a better catch ratio, just a better understanding that I am doing something wrong.

Great speech, it should be required reading in every grade of every school in the nation.

I didn't think all that much of the speech, the content was fine but the delivery was poor. I could have nodded off at the 3 minute mark, but gutted it out. If that speaker had been a vaudevillian he'd have gotten the hook.

It's just a shame the speech was wasted on a group of kids won't truly undrstand much of what he said until they're about the same age as the speaker. At that age (17-19), they're convinced that they know it all, and it'll be several years before they realize how little they actually know.

I don't know jack. This is consistently proven to me every day except for the weird ability to not get in trouble. The only thing I can't get out of is my Spanish final :computer-22:

I would say that last post is a little sophmoric
