What Is This?

Featured Replies

Been hearing about this small lake right off the tollway by work. Perfect for the jon boat and trolling motor. Its almost to good to be true and i dont know how i havent heard about if before now. Has shallow - deep drop offs. A nice creek channel with a 4 ft drop. Weeds, timber and rocks. Average depth is about 5 ft, max depth is 14.

We tried to beat the storm today but it was moving a little too fast. As soon as we got there it started getting windy and drizzling so we didnt even put the boat in. I threw a KVD 1.5 and landed 1 dink before we had to go. I also reeled this in and im not sure what exactly it is? Is it bait or fry? Thanks Yall!

Add a little breading and some hot oil and you, my friend, have a fish stick.

Never seen them before. I wonder how common they are? This place is fed by the Trinity river...

Not sure I'v caught a few growing up and my nephew caught one last year by hand in the yard when we had a flood. There so small i think there often over looked like hard to see at times they got good camo.

Looks like a baby chain pickerel ( Jack fish )

That's definately a marlin.

Id get it mounted. Replica though.

Looks like it could be a young of the year perch.

Man y'all are comedians...

i have no idea what that thing is. But the picture above looks just like it. On to the sarcasm. I hope you had a good net man so you could land that beast.

It looks like the picture, but kind of reminds me of snake-head fry. Same body shape and head I think.

I'm going with a juvenile Chain Pickeral (Jackfish) although it would be easier to tell from a side view....
