I am going to start making my own jig skirts, for the obvious reasons, and I have a order set and ready to buy from TW. But before I just the Material, tools and other things, I wanted to know if either Dicks, or Gander Mnt. sells these supplies.

I can not check here at work on the internet, and I wont be able to phone, or go to the store for a while really. So any insight is good, thanks.

I would seriously doubt that they would. Skirt making supplies is more of a specialty item that the big shops usually dont have. I've never seen it in any of those. BPS one time years ago, but their material was horrible.

Why go to TW? Go to www.fishingskirts.com or Barlows Tackle, Janns Netcraft, or Lurepartsonline, you will get a better selection and better prices and I believe you can buy a kit from Barlows with a skirt making tool, plastic storage box and enough material to make 50 skirts, they have one with colors used mostly on spinnerbaits and another for jigs, check it out.

Iv been eyeballing the stuff at fishingskirts.com because I want to start tying my own as well but there's so many choices idk where to start lol. they have kits for 30 bucks includes 100 tabs 10 different colors the collars and rattles. If you just want to buy the skirts there anywhere from .20-.35 a piece with a 10 minimum so 2.00-3.00 a color not to bad I don't think iv been sitting here working out the margins of making and tieing jigs....yup that bored

If you choose some good colors and buy them by the 100 ct they are way cheaper most of the time. You have to choose then think before you order or you'll wind up like me with 1400 coming. I did that a couple of years ago and have some that I'll never get around to using.

Skirt material came in from TW the other day, only got these colors: black, green, brown, smoke w/ holo, clear w/ holo and purple. That covers all the colors that I use most of the time where I fish here in NEO.

Put them all together, I have some nice looking skirts, nothing to it really, but fun none-the-less.

for 25 bucks, you can get a lot of extra skirts made, enough for a season easily.

There is plenty of tackle shops to shop from ***,janns/netcraft,barlows and there is more thaan thats just a few and you can mix and match for more savings.I hope this helps you out.Good Luck.
