Cellphone/14Yr Old

All im saying is, they will get made fun of for a 14 y/o having a phone designed for a 6 year old.

Nobody likes to get made fun of, it would just be easier on them. Like stated above, teen years, especially for middle school can be bad enough as a kid.

I believe it's actually a phone designed for a 14 year old, a phone designed for a 6 year old would have elmo on it and giggle when you press the buttons.

Just looked it up. That thing is overpriced. Those dorky kid phones start at $50! My son's Samsung has a slide out qwerty keyboard, color screen, and anything he needs, and it looks like any other function phone. I think it was $5 after purchasing 200 minutes. Comes with triple minutes for life. Add in the buy 60 get 60 free, and it's $20 for 240 minutes. That lasts him 3-4 months. And that's with his mother texting him constantly.

Get one of the real old ones, with the backpack and cord, like this.

Embarrassment as a parenting tool.... Straight up setting boundaries, and educating your child about the PRIVILEGE it is to have the phone is an easier route. Worked for me. ;)

I agree. Working on the concept of it being a privilege to have one.

Who is the carrier?

Tracfone.

im 33 years old and all i have is a tracfone. All i need it for is to make phone calls, which i dont do a lot of. More so keep it in case of an emergency or something. im not a big fan of phones as it is. for as little as i use it, its not worth it for me to get a smart phone and have a plan and all that. i probably spend less than 200 dollars a year on minutes, and i get double minutes...

I used one up until a year ago. From a business standpoint, it was the cheapest to operate.
