I'm having fits with my tackle. I went to Wmart They're top of the line tackle box $45. was total junk and worthless to me.

I cant find a tackle box to keep all my baits and I have a lot.

I decided to improvise. I purchased to ziploc double zipper bags. I sauteed my softbaits in corn oil and garlic powder.

Now I'm sorting the worms into the bags.

My question, is it alright to mix worm colors in on bag.

I mean I have several mixmaxed 4" worms and I'd rather put them in 1 bag rather than several in attempt to simplify storage. Seems like I read years ago that mixing colors will cause them to smear from one to another.

I'd rather put them in separate bags if that's the case.

Any Ideas? :-/

Putting different color worms in the same bag with cause the colors to mix with each other (trust me I had it happen to me).  Also sometimes if you mix certain brands of worms together like Strike King 3X series they will deform the worms. 

I try to keep my plastics in their original bags, unless they are not resealable. I sort them into 1 gal. Ziploc freezer bags (the ones with the zipper closures).

If the original bags are not resealable, I just move them into smaller ziplocs, before they go into the freezer bags.

The freezer bags go into a small soft duffel, with other random stuff that doesn't fit into hard Plano boxes.

The colors may blend. Some more than others.  Just like laundry, reds are the worst.

I keep plastics in boxes, and use the cheap zip-lock sandwich bags to separate colors. Many earth tone colors though, I'll mix, as it's OK with me if they blend.

Some companies seem to use dyes that don't bleed. I have red Mr.Twister worms that don't bleed. That's rare though.

DO NOT MIX COLORS. IT WILL END BADLY. Take it from me who has ruined plastics by doing that.

Actually sometimes i put a red worm in a pack of frogs or something so the red will bleed over and give the frog a more of an injured appearance.

Putting different colors into the same bag is a bad idea, unless you want them to bleed into each other or you don't care.

Next, I've got to ask, you sauteed your plastic worms in corn oil and garlic?  Was heat involved?  What possessed you to do this?  How did it work out?  Did you just want your baits to reek of garlic?

Get some Chompers.  They reek of garlic and you can find out how much they reek of garlic by leaving an open package in a closed boat bin.

I have heard that mixing colors "may" not be such a bad thing,as you can sometimes come up with a custom color fish have never seen.

On the other hand,as its already been mentioned,some types of plastics arent compatible with other types,so you may end up fusing baits together,deforming them,or melting them beyond use.

Now if the same style/brand worms(different colors)ie-a Zoom Brush Hog in Chartreuse color and a Zoom Brush Hog in Junebug were mixed together,I suppose the worst that could happen is the colors could bleed off into each other,creating a custom color(charteuse/junebug swirl?),which in some experimentation,may not be a bad thing. May even prove successful. If so,make sure you take note on how you came to that color conclusion so you can repeeat it.

Also I think that if one brand bait was heavily salted,and the other brand wasnt,and they were put in the same compartment,some funky things may occur,like bonding,or fusing,maybe melting.

i would not mix them, but some worms will do fine with others, but then you have others that will get destroyed such as strike king 3x. 

I had some culprit  5 inch ribbontail worms that got mixed with some zoom lizards and they created some watermelon seed/red cherryseed color worms so it didnt end too badly but I also like to keep my plastics in their original bags.  Maybe use seperate sandwich bags to sautee them and them put them back in the original bags

Mixing can be bad and good mostly bad.Ive done it and came out with some nice unique color patterns by accidnet for sure but turned out to catch fish lol

Keep us posted if your scent creation works.  With my luck it would scare all the bass away.

Colors will run

not always bad haha I got some nice colors by accident once in a while, but if you want green pumpkin you don't have it b/c it'll be green pumpkin purple haha

wait a minute...ziplock bags aren't cheap, why are you mixing them anyways? why not just throw it in separate bags?

I know ziploc bags are cheap but I had some odd worms that dont warrant a seperate bag.

I got a bunch of the tubes and grubs for panfish from bps, the big kits and i mix them in plastice bags like all the lil squirts together and the lil grubs together and haven't had an issue with color blending for the few years they've been together. endured hot cars and such fine. Might just because they're the same brand.
