Whats your favorite worm to texas rig and why? Favorite color?

As of right now my favorite is the 10" Berkley Power worm in motoroil. It is a bait that I have total confidence in and on just about every outing it catches at least one fish for me.

Now.. I did just pick up some Luck E Strike Sneaky Snakes.. an 11" worm that I am going to use for the first time this weekend.. So.. by next week I could have a new favorite!!!

What size hook do you use for those size worms? 5/0?

I use 5/0 with really good luck, but may up it to a 6/0 to try out.

Rage Tail anaconda is my favorite worm. I rage rig it on a 4/O keel weighted hook.

Rage 7" Anaconda in GP. Why? Because it has tons of action and fish love it! For deep water summer fishing, the Rage 10" Thumper is MONEY!

8" Havoc Juice worm or 7" Rage Andaconda. Red bug and watermelon candy have been good to me lately.

I don't throw a lot of worms, but when I do, it usually a 7.5" Culprit curl tail in red shad or black with chart tail.

My old man used them and taught me to fish using them. They work for me and its a lot of good times remembered.

Right now they have been hitting a 8" Mann's Jelly worm in grape color.

Right now, the most productive TX rig for me has been the 6.75" Zoom Trick worm in green pumpkin with a chartreuse tip.

Will rig with either a 2/0 or 3/0 hook. Probably could go larger, but theses sizes have been great.

I use that same mag trick worm I think same color. Lots of action with it

do you use any weights with these? I have a couple of packs but never have used them except for C-Rig.

Yeah, actually shoulda mentioned that. I will use a 1/8oz bullet for a slower fall, then a 3/16, or 1/4 on windy days.

I've also used them - with awesome success - in a split shot style with Water Gremlin's Bull Shot bullet weight 16-24" above the hook.

Thought I should mention that I'll use the split shot method with BOTH TX rigging, and wacky...

My favorite is Grande Bass rattlesnake is junebug, weighless with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook sometimes EWG sometimes not. A close second is zoom trick or KVD finesse worm weightless with same hooks. Trick worm colors are baitfish, red shad, junebug and KVD love the mutilator.

Trigger X Hammer Worm. Best big, tailed worm I have used. I recently tried the rage tail anaconda and I think the trigger X has better tail action. They are super soft but they catch fish when other worms dont.

Also like the Missle Baits "Tomahawk". It has a unique double tail that I havent seen on larger worms, anise scented and soft. I will usually throw this in place of the trigger X when I feel a slightly smaller worm might work better,

WOW better action than the anaconda? I gotta try some then.

I have a brand new favorite Texas Rig.

I had a chance to meet Gary Yamamoto this last weekend at the TTBC on Lake Conroe. He showed my friend and I a new technique for His Senko worms.

You Texas Rig the Senko worm, but hook the worm through the tail of the worm, instead of the head. Then, he had a 3/16 oz. screw at the opposite end. So it's basically a t-rigged, tail-weighted Senko, but the worm is backwards. No bullet weights or any other weights.

I took it a step farther and sprayed the end of the worm (opposite the hook) with my Garlic chartreuse spray. The Senko colors I used were like a pumpkin green and the other was an orangish color.

I was casting the 4" Senkos and my buddy was casting a larger Senko.

Long story short, we tore those bass apart!!!! We caught 23 total largemouth in a 15 hour period on a very tough lake, in the rain, during the cold front.

It is now a total confidence bait for me.

I saw this technique online - think I read it in his newsletter I subscribe to. Actually did the same thing but w/o the screw. Did not have as much success as you, as the bite was dying down when I made the switch. Perhaps the screw woulda helped...

Texas rig a 5'' senko weightless on 8lb FC has been money when the bite is tough. Its my fail safe when nothing else works.

10" Rage Andaconda in the Plum Color or The Charlie's Worm 8" Swimming Worm in JW Black Grape Green Red Glitter, are my two go to worms.

My favorite use to be a ribbon tail design like the Culprit style worm, in a translucent blue, fire tail, but no one seems to make that style in that color anymore. Heck I can’t even find this color blue or I would get those and dip the tail myself. The bass around here would go crazy for that color back in the late 80's early 90's, and then the color just disappeared from the market. Photo not the worm I am talking about, but the color is dead on.

my favorit worm is whatever i can get them to bite at the time.

7" Powerbait Green Pumpkin for Grass areas, lilly pads, and my general go to worm.

7" Powerbait Black for murky/foggy water and while raining.

The shorter size I think 5" Powerbait Motor Oil for yellow/tan waters.

I switch up between Black and Cherryseed for night time fishing.

I don't throw a lot of worms but the Zoom U tails have been productive for me.
