Kentucky Bass

Featured Replies

if your catching a lot of kentucky bass would there be any largemouth by them ?

Depends on where you catch the K. If its in a lake probably. If its in a stream, it depends in the stream since largemouth don't typically like fast moving water.

Both species and smallmouth may be found in the same river or lake, but they don't hang out together.

I think it depends on the area. I know fishing bluff ends or points at Table Rock it isn't uncommon to catch largemouth, spots, and smallmouth all off the same spot. If you graph deep, suspended fish and get them to bite they seem to almost always be spots for some reason. Maybe there are largemouth and smallies there too that just won't bite but all I've ever seen caught in that situation is spots.

I was out on Table Rock yesterday fishing the drop shot, caught around 30 black bass on the DS, maybe 4 or 5 LM's in the mix. But the LM's were small, 12" fish for the most part. Spots were running 13-16".
