On the thread about showing your tackle. i see alot of people take there plastics out of the bags and put them in the plano type containers.  does this not make them dry out faster

No, doesn't seem to anyway. I do the same thing, just keep replenishing what's in the Planos, and all the rest stay in the bags at home.

Depends on the brand, but most will be fine.

I keep my "reserves" in their original packages.

For everyday use, a smaller Plano with five

sections for soft plastics and one divided

vertically for hooks and weights. These baits

are ready to go: Senko, Kut Tail, Tubes/Kreatures,

Fat Ika and 7 1/2" Larew Salty Ringworms/

Roboworms.

I keep all Rage Tail in their molded package.

Rage Tail are worth a little extra money.

Besides being effective and unique, every

bait is delivered in perfect condition.

I haven't had a problem with them drying out and I've been doing it that way for years.  Like others said, I keep the 'reserves' in the garage in the original package and replenish my plano boxes when they get low.  It's a great way to keep your boat organized.  I have a box for 7" worms, big worms, finesse worms, etc etc.  I label them w/ a Sharpie and put them in my boat box so I can quickly grab the plano I'm looking for.  Fantastic for getting back in the water quickly in a tournament.

Just an FYI BPS puts the XPS brand on sale during the Spring Classic sale.  They are usually discounted pretty deep.

I mostly agree with this post however with soft plastics that come in "greased" bags, for example damiki creatures and flick shake worms, I keep them in the orig package. I agree that "dry" soft plastics like sweet beavers are ok in a plano.

I keep my plastics in their original package so that they are always 'marinating' in scent.  If the plastic is only salt but not scent, I spray some YUM LPT, or Kick'N Bass Attractant in the bag.

I keep them in the original bags and put them in wrap style zips like Tackle Logic.

I actually took a ziplog bag, put a few lures in there and dumped some used moist coffee grounds in there like I hear a few people do with decent luck... I plan to go out Sunday and although they are still deep they may be starting to move more since the days have been warming up a little lately
