What's your preference? Also which lb test? Will be used on casting gear. Thinking of trying sunline super natural possibly (pretty small diameter so unsure of which # line to go with). I've also been using some yozuri hybrid on some of my spinning reels lately and it seems good so far so I'm thinking of maybe trying the 12# hybrid on these. I don't want to get into any exotic stuff that costs a fortune and is hard to find. Debating going with mono or a copoly line.

I switched all my reels to 12# yo zuri hybrid and am very impressed. I don't feel the need to try anything else now that I found this line.

Haven't tried it yet but just put Vanish 12# flouro on my crankin rod. 20# Trilene XL for topwaters. works well on top. If using 1 rod for both types definetly do not use flouro "sinks ".

For my topwater, which is spooks, I use 10# Trilene XT mono. I like the lighter test due to it helps snap the spook better for better action. For my crankbaits, which I almost never get to use down here, I will take my daily fishing setup with 12# YoZuri and use it.

15# Power Pro braid with a 10# mono leader. I use 10-30# Power Pro braid with or without a leader (depending on technique) for everything.

Same as everything else. 12lb yo zuri. For frogs an buzzbaits--20lb yo zuri.

I use 10# P-Line CXX X-tra Tough.

I'll spool up some 12# hybrid and see how it does. The reason I ask is because a lot of people are dead set on using mono for these applications and I haven't been really using much mono in general for freshwater stuff lately. It's been good so far on my spinning reels (and more people seem to like it for casting than spinning) so I guess it deserves a shake at this. We'll see!

I use 15lb YoZuri Hybrid

A quality mono with a little stretch has not hurt my crankbait and topwater fishing at all.

Helped smooth up my erratic hook-set for sure.

10# Green Yozuri Hybrid on 2 reels have done well lately. But, I've been hangin' so much wood with my Deep divers lately, thinking of going to 15#. I'll need it to straighten the hooks of some mighty expensive custom crankbaits!!

I fish two different crankbait rods on a regular basis. One has a Calcutta 50 with #8 Yozuri and the other has a Calcutta 100 with #10 Yozuri. I've caught hundreds of bass on both ranging from 2oz-6pounds and have NEVER had a break-off. I fishe lipless cranks and cranks up to 12' deep.

The Yozuri is very strong, has excellent knot strength and is also high abrasion resistant.

For topwater, It depends.

I Don't fish topwater too much so I don't have a dedicated rod for it. I usually use #10-#12 mono. If I had a dedicated rod, then I'd use 12-15 mono for my topwater. Some folk use as much as 20.

10-12# Trilene XL is a great line for these applications at a great price.

I like LMG, really don't crank much living down here but when I do I use 10# mono.

Everything on top it's 30# power pro.

12# Yo Zuri Hybrid. I like it.

For diving crank baits, Berkely 100% fluro in 12 lbs test, and for top water Trilene XL in 10 or 12 lbs test. For my topwater fishing i use braid to a mono leader.

I have the 12# hybrid on it now. I gotta say this stuff seems tough from experimenting with it a little bit. Even the 6# line I have on some of my spinning reels is tough as nails. I haven't had a chance to give it a proper test yet though. If I'm as happy with this as I am with the 6# stuff.....I might just end up switching most of my stuff over to hybrid.
