LuckyCraft Pointers?

Featured Replies

I thought the pointers were suppose to sit nose down in the water, I was messing with mine and they don't. So I'm assuming they are not suppose to, correct???

mine sits nose down.i have the 100. what kinda line you using?

I think my Pointer 78 sits straight maybe nose down a little bit.  Kinda hard to tell for me though.

You can make sure it sits nose down, just get some Suspended Dots or Suspending Strips from Storm.

The Pointers I've fished all suspend horizontally.

Whats your current water temps? Pointers usually wont suspend correctly if the water is too cold (like 43 and under)

water 42, no line. Was just checking how it sat.

are lucky craft pointers really worth the price? I have never used one, mainly because I cannot justify paying $15 for a jerkbait. I usually use X-Raps, but am not opposed to switching to lucky craft if it is worth it.

Yes. They are a fantastic lure. Try a 78 in ghost minnow, or a 100 if your ambitious

You really don't lose them because it's a shallow running lure. Some of the deeper cranks I have a hard time swallowing the price tag, but as far as ripbaits are concerned...LC all the way!

I have no problem with them not suspending correctly. They are worth the money as they have a more subtle action than the X - Rap and work better in some circumstances. I never go on the water without X - Raps, Pointers, and Husky Jerks though.

Like said before they are more subtle than a xrap, both are good, however the xraps usually don't get used in water colder than 55 degeres for me, they are to erractic and a more subtle approach works better for me at that point. LC are well worth the price, you don't need every color, and since they run shallow you rarely lose one, try a 78 in Ghost minnow, Pearl ayu, and Perch. get a couple 100's in other colors and you are set, total investment less than $60 if you buy smart when you find sales or clearances

The Pointer should suspend horizontally in 42*-50* water.  Just look at the package.

I'm guessing you're using fluorocarbon line?

Roger

The Pointer is a great lure. In my opinion it is LC's best and the only one worth the price.

Use the Lucky Craft Bevy Shad.. IF your looking for a jerk that will sit there nose down.
