trolling motor went dead......running a minn kota 45lb thrust motor and eagle fish finder off this battery. i had the bps battery and it lasted 5 years (not too bad imo). was looking at the optima marine battery for apporx $220. the bps battery is $160...........is the optima worth the difference in cost?

Save yourself some money. Go to wally world and pick up a everstart deep cycle. I think i paid around $80 for it 4 years ago. Still going strong and we use it ALOT. The thing has probably been recharged 300x. Never died on us.

In my opinion batteries are like Ford vs Chevy.. I am a large fan of the Optima batteries. I have had nothing but good luck myself with them. I have seen Optimas last one year and other Optimas last 7... The same goes for other brands..
