Anyone know when shimano updated the citica from the 200D series to the 200E series??? Thanks.

They started hitting the market in the later part of 2008 if I remember correctly

A Walmart by me has a Citica D still in the case. It's marked at $119. I tried to get the mgr to sell for $89 which is what Gander was closing the E's at but no dice. He said he could do 10% but that's all.

The Walmart near me has several of the Curado D reels still boxed brand new, and still marked $200. Been there for years.

I believe the Citica 200 E and Curado 200E series came in 2008. I had two Citica 200D's, which I sold 3 months ago, still in perfect condition, to a fellow who fishes the Mississippi. The Citica 200s are completely different than the Citica 200Ds in that the D is a much larger reel. With all of the hoopla about the new Curado 200G being made in Maylasia and how terrible it is, the Citica 200D was made in the Shimano facility in Maylasia many years ago and it is one incredible reel.

I have 2 of the G series Curados, and I am still waiting for the terrible to pop out all over them.

PM sent. I'd ask for management or the sporting goods department manager if you want to arrange a deal to have them shipped to you. The employees wont be able to do much. Their tendency is to say it can't be done to try to get out of it and avoid the hassle of dealing with something that is not normal day to day procedures. If you get a hold of some guy who says they don't have them or doesn't know what they are, tell them they are locked in the glass case behind the counter, where the long guns are. They are in green boxes, and at least one of them has a red label on it with the price of $200. I think it says Curado DSV on it. Last time I was there it looked like they had several, and I think one might have been a Citica but I can't remember now. It's been at least a month or more since I was at that one. Call during the day to get the dept. manager. Before 3 p.m. After that time it gets harder because it's just employees and assistant managers. Even assistant managers have been known to act like it's someone else's job to do this if it's an out of the ordinary request.
