I have bought display models many times. Don't recall ever having any problems.

However, I only buy displays because they were out of stock. And ALWAYS, yes, ALWAYS

get at least a 10% discount. Insist on it.

Got a Curado G off display because they were out of stock. It worked great before I sold it. I definitely checked it over as good as I could in the store before making the purchase, and yes I got a discount.

Have before and would again. I've never had any problems with any of the display models I've bought.

Give that baby a good cleanin and you will be good to go! I've bought and used many display models without a hitch

Some years ago I was eyeballing a Quantum Cabo 30 in the showcase at Sports Authority that had been on close out for months at $79. Great price at the number but I called the manager over and said " what do you really need to move this reel out of here", I paid $60 and reel has been perfect.

It helps that they only payed 59.99 for the reel, ive never bought a display model so idk what to expect

My stx broke not sure if it was my fault or just heavy use. It does not matter because it is being sent back for nothing.

I've bought one reel out of the display case and it has been flawless, it was/is a Abu C3 4600 that was on clearance and then after 25% off for being a display model it came to $30 and some change. I would do it again, but always check it out as best you can before you pull the trigger. Although the C3s are tanks so this took a little worry off my plate.
