Couple Jigs Of Recent

Featured Replies

Heres a few I have done recently, some on boss hooks some on siebert hooks/heads and some on regular eagle claw jig heads. I just started into jigs, I used to be a demonstration fly tier.

Definitely some nice looking jigs. Keep it up

Thanks for the encouragement. That jig in your avatar lives in my boxes too!

You know, I'm really impressed with guys who do this kind of stuff. I didn't get much in the handiness/creativity department. I'm especially impressed with those who custom paint crankbaits.

J, have you ever considered making jigs with a lot of strands on them like the Mop Head jigs?

Big, fat, juicy jigs.

Just wondering.

I have been making a few, those were my very first jigs. Ive started doing color separation like actual prey. I tied one last night that had sixty strands of silicone and thirty strands of living rubber.

Ive looked at the crankbait thing also, might try that some day, there are guys out there who do amazing paint work on cranks.

When i first started fly tying about 9 years ago I bet I threw my first 500 flies either in the garbage or other peoples boxes because to me they werent what I was buying. The fact was though, they caught fish. Sure it takes time and patience to perfect things but this really isnt that hard. Hard is tying burned wings(made out of a feather) onto a size 20 hook.

nice job! look awesome

what kind of head is that on the black/blue one. Looks similar to the Hack Attack head that i love. Do you pour that style Cadman?

Looks just like the Storm Series Roadwarrior. I modified the skirt with

some additional glitter inside, but I don't know whether Mike is going

to go with that or not. I'm glad your picture contrasts the purple that

didn't come out so well in the Siebert Outdoors pics. Put a Rage Tail

Lobster or Craw in June Bug on for the trailer and see what you think!

I took my pic with a very nice canon camera and the macro setting on with the flash. Might have made a difference. Ill try out the rage recommendation. I built that jig mainly for fishing at night.
