St. Croix, Powell, Dobyns

Featured Replies

If money was no object, which rod would you choose for deep cranking weedlines and rocky drop offs.

Has to be a St Croix, Powell or Dobyns.

St. Croix Legend elite. Taken over the legend extreme only because I like full cork grip on my moving bait rods.

I am Powell guy and own several of their rod and i a, more than satisfied. And although I don't own a Dobbyns rod, I am a fan of them simple because Mr. Dobbyns has brought so much to our sport and he makes a great rod.

All that said, I'm going to go for the 7'6" MH mod St. Croix Legend Extreme... After all money is no object.

Do you have preference on rod length. I really like the endurance 755cb.I don't own one but have used this rod on several outings and was happy with the rods performance. I feel I may be bias because I am also a powell guy.

I love my Dobyns crankin rods! 765CB Glass

For shallow crankbaits:  Avid AVC70MM

Deep divers:  Lamiglas SR705R is THE BOMB!

765CB Glass  put a revo winch on it and have fun.  Honestly makes deep cranking super easy.

St Croix Legend Tournament 7'10" Magnum Cranker. I have it, I use it. Can't beat a graphite cranking rod with braid for deep cranking grass.
