What is your favorite darter head jig to use with 4" and 5" grubs? 

If you do not use darter heads, what is your choice?

Have you used any techniques with grubs that would be considered unconventional?

i bought a bag of the generic basspro darter heads with a thin weedguard. i only use them with grubs in a shallow river when the weeds are thick. i usually fish grubs with round jig heads.

i run the hook very close to the surface along the seam of the grub. i think you get a better swimming action and you have a wider gap for the hook set. usually tail down unless its a long grub then i point it up.

i sometimes fish them like a finesse jig instead of swimming or hopping but i dont know if that is an unconventional method.

I usually use the BPS and Owner darter heads.  I use the Bass Pro mainly for grubs and hollow body swim baits. 

Another way I like to fish grubs in thick cover is on a Shakey Head jig with the screw in type of keeper on the head.  I fish these "texas-rigged".  However, very seldom do I fish a grub that is smaller than 3", mostly the 5" grubs from Bass Pro or Mister Twister.

For 4-5" grubs, I'll use a 1/8-1/4 oz darter head IF the area I'm fishing isn't rocky.  Otherwise I just end up donating tackle to the lake Gods.  In those cases, I'll switch to a splitshot rig with a mojo weight.

In real weedy situations, I'll Texas rig them just like a worm with a bullet weight.

Probably the most unconventional way I fish them is weightless. I just buzz them across the surface. It looks like a frog with less commotion.
