Rest in Peace Stan the Man.

I read in today's paper his best year was 1948 the year I was born. He will always be remembered by baseball fans as one of the true greats in his sport.

He was a bit before my time, but definitely one of the all-time greats.  The Hall of Fame was built for players like him.

Best player in the last 60 years

He is the reason my grandfather is a cardinals fan even while growing up and still living in the Philadelphia area.

There was a slight difference between Earl and Stan in career ejections:

Earl--91

Stan--0
