Chronarch 200E7 Problem?

Featured Replies

I just received a new chronarch and I have a question. When the drag is lose my Spool does not spin at all i have to Turn the drag star about 4 full turns to get it to engage. is this normal? I'm pretty new to bait casters and my llews and Abu Garcia don't do this even with the drag all the way down the spool still spins. Just want to know if I should return this or have to adjust the settings a certain way. Thanks in advance.

Yea, sounds like a Shimano to me. I will give you $100 fot that piece of junk.

I don't think it's a problem. I just checked mine and it does the same thing. Like you the first baitcaster I bought was an abu and I've noticed with shimanos you have to crank the drag star a little more to get it where you want.

Chronarch problem? No you mean your Daiwa/Lews/Pfleuger/Quantum problem.

Yes that is completely normal. When the drag is fairly loose, the spool will not turn or reengage. This should only be happening when you are able to pull the line out very easily. if there is any amount of drag pressure then the spool should be engaging.

Yep, I agree. You got a piece of crap, send it to me and I'll give you $150...and let that be the end of it. (Don't forget the box and papers that came with it.)

I have worked a lot of Chronarch' and no that isn't normal. You should have slight to none when the star is losened all the way.

They should progressively get tighter and you turn the star down.

I have seen CH's that have had the drag spring washer's installed in the wrong orientation and cause this same issue.

You might check them...wrong )(, right ()....

Tight Lines!  :fishing1:
