Featured Replies

Anybody tried a HawgTech handle yet? Really thinking would look cool on a Sol and/or a custom Revo i have. Want some feedback before dropping $80per.

There are a ton of threads on this forum, just do a search for "hawgtech" and they'll pop up.

I've never owned or tried one, but with the respect I have for the guys here that have them, I'd have no issues buying one. There are very well praised here.

At $80, they are at least half of what other aftermarket cost, especially considering they come with bearing supported cork knobs.

I have three and like them. Not only do they look good but they add a little leverage, reduce weight & the cork knobs are very comfortable. The Hawgtech guys are getting into more customization. Here is a pic of a reel that has been hydro dipped on the end plates.

Greatest thing to hit the fishing world since the Helicopter lure.

I am sold!

Thanks boys - Twitch

My only problem is the thickness of the handle, it would be nice if it was more slender towards the center, more like a swept handle.

There was a 50E Chronarch on their Facebook page last night or this morning that looked pretty awesome. Piscidal, post that pic if you see this.

Both my Chronarch50Es have the Hawg Handles. Makes a world of difference.

You can get that in other, JDM aftermarket handles. They flex, and shorter, and cost sometimes 3x as much.  The Hawgtech doesn't do any of those. ;)

Sorry I'm a little late to this party.

The Hawg Handle does look cool on a Sol...

Now, this is the only reel I have right now that does not have the cork grips....Me and Robert bought a couple of these Crucial rods when they were on sale recently on Tackle Warehouse ($99!)

I like the grips to match the rod, so I took the knobs off a G Series Curado.  I put the Hawg Tech silver end caps in the Shimano grips.  I also tweaked the reel a little bit, putting the aluminum star drag and spool tension knob from an E series Curado on it.  I micro polished the bearing surfaces on this reel and replaced the spool bearings with ABEC7 ceramic hybrids and rocket fuel oil.  This thing launches 1/2oz traps 60 yards easily with that 7'11" Crucial crankbait rod and 12lb mean green mono.

I used to love tinkering with my old 60s/70s hot rods...making em look cool, customizing stuff, increasing the performance.  Still love doing it, but on a little smaller scale.
