I just bought one of the Scatter Rap cranks today at my local BPS. I'll be at Bull Shoals and the White River all next week so hopefully I'll get to put a few miles on them and have a report when I ge

  • I will pick up a few to give them a whirl.  I also haven't broken any rapala bills myself and the majority of time i throw a crank Rapalas are my goto bait.

  • They were interesting to fish. I fished both a 5 and a 7 model today, both on the same setup. Spinning combo, 6lb FC coated line. It seemed like I needed to keep a pretty decent retrieve speed to get

Looks good but they don't run very deep. Was hoping for a deep diving version. The countdown looks to be my best option.

Yeah, that countdown version should be a great lure. Gives you just another tool in your arsenal. Good design.

I for one am very intrigued. I definitely will get me some.

I hope the action is as nice as the JDM Ima Waddel Bats. YouTube it if you don't know what I'm talking about. However like all JDM lures they are expensive at $20-25 a piece. I would cry if a Northern Pike cuts off my line and runs off with it.

So I will try these Rapala out. I'm sure in right conditions they should work.

I'm sold. Hopefully the bills on these will last longer than most rapala baits because you don't have to bounce it off of anything to get the hunting action. Looks pretty sweet. I'll probably pick up a few of the normal cranks in the bluegill color once all the hype dies down and they're easily availible. I'm hoping for a deep diver and a wakebait would be EPIC.

Looks like they designed a bait that "hunts" very well something that is usually a flaw that causes a bait to do that. Problem was maybe only one out of twenty actually did what you wanted it to do. This seems to be a cheaper, more dependable choice. I'll bite.

I'm into them......as previously stated, I hope the bills don't have durability issues.  I fish a river most of the time, and the smallies will smash these as long as the bill holds up.

Just saw a video on these Rapalas. Not even close as erratic action as the Waddel bat cranks. Still I think it should work. I don't know, Rapalas durability to me seems no different than strike kings cranks but SK seems to not get bad rep. Maybe it's just me.

HHMMMM bait fish that "hunt""

So you are not familar with that term?

So how will we tell if this is tuned properly? ;)

Count me in to at least try them.

I am not pre ordering it, I know that much

I'll give them a try but it still feels like you have to work the lure quite a bit. Not so much with the action of your rod tip anymore but rather cadence. I'm not entirely convinced they will be much more productive than anything else on the market, but it's always nice to try new things out.

Anyone know what rod ike is using in the video? Looks like an aby garcia Veritas castging rod no?

He uses Veritas quite often and it appears he is in the video. Not sure of the specific rod if that's what you're wondering.

no not specific just wondering is he used the Veritas

must be a pretty epic rod for only 100$ if ike is using it

Ah, thanks for reminding me about the Waddle bats! I was looking at those some time ago.

I'm easy, I'm in. The Bait Monkey is prancing on my head as I post!

Ike has been using the Vertias for a while now. I have a few of them and like them, definitely worth $100

I purchased 3 at the Expo.  Im gonna give them a try!

They were $8 a pop at the Dick's display at the Classic. I picked up 5 or 6. Hope to fish them tomorrow. Something different.
