I just picked up a pack of these, on sale for $1.50 at my local Walmart. Now, how do you fish them? I was thinking Texas rigged with a 1/8 bullet weight, but would you loop the line through the bullet weight so it doesn't slide up and down? Or do you guys rig them other ways? All input is appreciated!

C-rig, split shot or Jika rig.

 

 

 

T rig with 1/8, I'll put it on a shaky head and throw it in a bed, weightless is another. Very versatile bait

Zoom Lizards are a great bait and they catch a ton of bass, for that price STOCK UP!!! You can fish them alot of ways but I like to C-rig them like RW said and I like to T- rig them. The 1/8 oz.weight is good for skinny water but the deeper you fish the more you have up side on the weight. I fish the 1/8 oz from shorelines to out to 15 ft. anything deeper 1/4 to 1/2 for me.

 As for the weight on a t-rig you can peg it with bobber stops,one bobber stop in front of the knot and one ahead of the weight so now you have the best of both worlds,you can peg or have the weight free moving by just sliding the rubber bobber stops up or down!

Another way I just remembered that is an awesome way to fish this lure is to do a modified drop shot, use a regular size offset hook and tie the weight really short, about midway down the lizard.  This is a great way to fish in emergent vegetation, the lizard comes through head up, the legs really kick and the tail is down, the weight kicks up a little mud and seems to drive the fish absolutely crazy. Good luck

Allow for another method, one which, on a whim, I started during pre/spawn/post last year.

Wacky rig it weightless, or with a weighted wacky hook. Caught a number of 5-6 pounders. They killed the lizard as it shimmied down.

I fish the 8" Zoom lizards with a 3/16 oz slip sinker.

T-Rig it and fish it just like a ribbontail worm!

i like to fish them t-rigged weightless because im usually fishing them around algae/grass or rocky areas

The 4" Version makes a great Drop Shot bait. I imagine the 6" isn't going to be any different in that regard. I just recently picked up some in the 6" variety and have yet to try the out this year, but i plan on texas rigging with a 1/8th oz weight pegged on beds and around docks. I was actually also going to try the neko rig on beds with it...

That jika rig intrigues me..like a compact drop shot sort of. Thanks again RW!
