Strike King Swim Jig

Featured Replies

Picked up a sk swim jig and it has a wire keeper about a quarter inch below the hook. Is the trailer supposed to be threaded on the keeper and not the hook? Seems as though it would be difficult to thread the trailer on both the hook and keeper I've never fished a swim jig but none of my other jigs have the keeper wire located this far from the hook.

I thread the trailer onto the hook like we usually do, and embed the keeper onto the belly of the trailer to hold it in place. I don't like the design; tears up the plastic too much and doesn't do a very good job of holding the trailer in place, especially after a few fish. I like the jigs though.

That design is horrendous when trying to use a swimming fluke due to the split belly. It takes work, but I think I may just add glue.

It works so so, Helps keep the bait in place an also helps tear up the bait at the same time.  But the SK Swim Jig is a great jig and the KVD Swim Jig is even better.

Thanks for the replies and pictures. Makes sense now. Deep, is that a skinny dipper?
