What is your favorite tube bait for smallies?  Include brand, size, and color.  Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Well when I pick one I'll let you know. I can't think of a single tube that I have used that I have not caught them on, and I have had good days on them all. They all have one common theme, 3.5", and some shade of green in color, other than that I have been all over the map on brand. GYCB, SK, BPS, Zoom, etc.......

depends on how ur rigging them.

some tubes have a solid head which work much better for screw lock hooks. some all hollow. some very thin plastic. 

River Rock Baits 3.5" pro series tube in either dark special, green pumpkin flash, or dill pickle, those 3 colors work on any body of water and any type of water clarity.

-  BPS 3 inch green pumpkin tender tubes with red flake

-  Strike King 3.5 inch green pumpkin coffee tubes

 

I agree that color and size is more important than the manufacturer

3.5 inch big bite baits salt tube in lt melon perch.  good for clear and stained water.

Gitzit and Zoom 3 1/2 inch in any of he many crawfish colors available in both brands.

Really depends on the time of the year, typically in the prespawn I like old school thin wall tubes like the 3" gitzit chubs, BPS TTs, and yamamotos, as the season goes on, I begin sizing up, Strike King makes good 3.5" double dippers, so does Poor Boys when you want to throw a 4". 

 

Colors? Stick with the tried and true.... melons, pumpkin, black, smoke, pearl, chartreuse.

I only for fish for smallies on Lake of the Woods in June so perhaps it influences my tube size as the fish are very aggressive.  I almost exclusively use 4" tubes.  Use various brands including generic.  

 

Also fish 3 3/4 " Original Gitzits but only for LMB on highly pressured lakes.  

When living outwest had the opportunity to fish Dry Creek Tubes out of Murtaugh Idaho. Brad is a class act and has a unique color and size assortment of tubes.

Confidence Baits Little Tubes on a 1/8oz. Micro Draggin' Head jig.  In either the River Bottom or Raven color schemes.  You can also rig them on the CB tube jig heads in the 3/32 or 1/16 oz heads and the tube will stand straight up.

I started using them last year, I like them. They are actually pretty durable, which for a GYCB product is a rarity.  They are not as cheap as they seem, as you only get 6 per pack, but they are worth it. One of the few brands where every tube out of the package is perfectly cut, and they are not double dipped, which I like, and is almost a rarity in tubes now. They have plenty of salt, but unlike a BPS tender tube, don't ooze salt out of them and fall apart, or change colors trying to slide a tube head into the body. They are a tight fit for anything larger than a 1/4 oz. head though, but use lots of megastrike as a lube and the bigger heads glide right in..............let the comments begin on that one LMAO.

Mizmo Big Boys (4") in assorted colors, usually green pumpkin. Rig them on a 1/4 oz. barrel jig head with a 3/0 hook.

Zoom or Venom.  Watermelon, pearl white, smoke with purple flake are colors I like.

Oregon Native is on it.  Dry Creek makes an excellent bait with some unique colors for my region. Outlaw Baits is another regional company that has a very special color that sacks em up on the Columbia. I tried some Big Bite Bait tubes last fall and are also effective and reasonable.

Up in Canada with Erie driving distance there are a ton of local shops that pour their own tubes and they are great. 

But I've caught some on Yum and Mizmo tubes...3.5-4" green usually

Dry Creek Skirt Chaser in the Bronze Back color has boated me a lot of nice fish for sure.

Just had to put in two cents for Dry Creeks double dip 4inch tube again. AWESOME. Used them the other night and won a wildcat on a local lake. Probably got two doz fish...lotsa dinks...but seven good keeps. Tried a jig which was good the previous week but that was a no show for me. (I won't say color..but Brad might!!)
