Convince me to buy these things. It looks a bit skeptical to me. What color? What hook size? Type of rigging?

I know of one guy on here that swears by them! I am sure he will chime in, after reading his post I went and got some!

Watermelon/Black Fleck, 4 or 5/0 hook, rig it backwards (insert the hook point into the side with the skirt, texas rigged), and trust me, they catch fish.

 I am a big Yamamoto fan, but the Ika's are not anything special to me. I have used them, I have caught fish on them. They work, but they are just another bait, nothing magic. In fact, I don't even have any right now, and I'm not too worried about it.

Best tip I've gotten from these forums is the Fat Ika.  Rigged 'backwards' (hook-eye in the frilly end) and slowly fished weightless along the bottom.  Absolute killer.

 

Green Pumpkin w/ Black Flake and Black w/ Blue Flake should be all you really need for colors.  Watermelon is also good.

 

This year, I'm stripping all my soft plastics down to three colors: The two I mentioned before and Dark Pumpkin w/ Black Flake.  Added the dark pumpkin as it's basically a dead ringer for craws up here.  Be interesting to see how it works.

Fat Ika is awesome in shallow water, I haven't had much success in deeper water > 10feet.

This is an awesome bait.  Thank you to Roadwarrior for preaching the gospel of the Fat Ika.  In shallow water, these things are awesome.  Rig it backwards, and it falls backwards.  Bass can't say no.  

Green Pumkin/ Black Flake  I catch a TON of bass on them. Keep at it, many times in early season they are not near as effective for me as they are later on, and somedays the bass really don't want them. But all in all they are one of my prime go to baits. We have had days when we have caught over 100 bass on them. (rig them backward)

Well if it gets hot where you are might be worth a try in those conditions. Last summer it produced for me in 100+ days.
