is this a troll? Jerkbaits are probably the worst thing you can throw in muddy water.

Id pitch a black/blue jig or a T-rigged creature or beaver type bait. Something that will have a good hue in the muddy water and help them find it. I'f you have wood cover near the bank id be around it all day just hitting it.

Muddy water fishing is all about cover.

Tie these lures on.

1. Black and blue flipping jig

2: chartreuse spinnerbait

Flip the newly flooded brush and the cover that the fish usually hold in.

Run the spinnerbait around cover, bang it off stumps, etc. A chatterbait will also work well for this. Good luck, and have fun.

its a jerkbait, but how muddy is the water? if its not too awful bad, then it should work fine with blue/silver.

muddy is muddy, period. Jerkbaits are mainly for clear water, ESPECIALLY that color. When it rains and the water gets muddy and rises, fish head for cover. Last time I checked, treble hooks and wood do not mix.

What to throw?.......throw on a pair of sweatpants

Where to go? ............settle in on the couch and watch some fishing shows

Muddy + Cold = the worst. I live to fight another day. If it's muddy from recent rains/wind/runoff wait a couple days till it clears up. Or if it's always muddy, wait for it to warm up a little. The windows are small and tight in muddy water.........and even more so in cold water. If your bound and determine to fish it, I would go shallow, and pound and pound and pound away at the thickest cover you can find. It's all about timing in cold muddy water, and unless your willing to wait them out for that brief flurry of activity, skunked is what you will get.

Sounds like a perfect day for some JIG fishing...

Pitch to some laydowns and let that dude just sit there, shake and wait baby :)

Lol. no absolutes in fishing; although I probably won't start with a jerkbait. WW2farmer gives some good suggestions.

This very thing happened to a buddy and I last weekend.  I tried the rogue, Crank, etc.  The lure we ended up with was a shaky head with a grub for my bud and a rage craw shaky head.

Slow dark colors and bulky. Jig. Would be key with a big trailer.

Black and blue jig with rattles
