Building Jigs

Featured Replies

Just made an order from fishboss.com for a bunch of jig heads and skirts and a skirt tool. was just watching some videos of gary klein on youtube and saw him talking bout this site. This will be my first time building my own jigs but im almost sure im going to be addicted to doing it for some reason. Anybody else used this website and had any luck with anything specific from there?

I've never used that site before. It looks like they have a lot of good stuff. I have been making jigs for a few years and have a blast doing so. Nothing better than catching a bass on your own jigs. Good luck!

My friend 123456 bought stuff from them to make his own jigs. He is very sucessful with them and seems happy with the products. He uses the Gary Klein Heavy Cover model and it seems to work very well. He is able to use it in a from shore chunk rock situation that eats up other styles of jigs. He still loses them ocassionally but not with the frequency exibited with other styles,

I have ordered from there and ordered alot, probably $300 worth of skirts and jig heads.  I really like the alabama craw and PB and J living image skirts and the Gary Klein Heavy Cover Jig in 1/4 and 3/8 ounce.  When these are gone I will most definitely order more.  These jigs have excellent hooks and the head does come through cover nicely.  The weed guards are extremely stiff so I cut off about 5-7 strands before using.  If you find you don't like these get the Siebert Outdoors Big O jigs!

It's addictive once you start tying your own jigs, especially when you start catching fish with your own baits!

Be careful, I hear this hobby is addictive. My brother started making his own jigs a few years back and now I have more jigs than I'll ever use. I have found that you can make jigs just as good, and sometimes better than the ones you buy. You might consider moving this thread under Tacklemaking.
