I got the 40lb first cast I mean WoW 60 yards easy second cast a little longer third cast ....$&@;:/-@&$;:/-/:;$();$/&/&-@- this is not a birds nest ,,,this is a catchers mitt it's soooooooo deep my kids are on the ground laughing my oldest girl tells the youngest,( put the rod down and walk away). I love spinning tackle I just wanted to play with ya'll big boys now I see.... Just cause you got the toys don't mean you can play. I felt like the guy who trolls deep diving crankbaits in the shallows......stupid hooks lol.

You don't need a baitcaster to play with the "big boys!" I only use spinning gear and have no problem keeping up and catching fish. But, to each his own. Just keep workin' that reel and you'll be fine.

If you're just starting out on baitcasters, I'd learn how to throw using mono first.  I used Big Game to start out 12lb.  It won't hurt as much in the pocket.
